Deborah Ayorinde Ayorinde discovered her love of acting and art at the age of seven when she appeared in her first play with a theatre school in London's Forest Gate district. She and her family immigrated to the United States when she was eight years old. 

Ayorinde honed her abilities and skills by participating in talent events where she performed dances, choruses, and cheering. During her stay at Howard, she received the prestigious Paul Robeson Best Actress prize for her performance in a short film she directed. She wrote and directed the film, which also won Best Cinematography.

Olayinka got her first role in the TV show Meet the Browns in 2010. She appeared in one episode as Chloe. She continued to work in the business and ultimately rose to a more senior position. Her credits include Simone in Girls Trip (2017), Candace in Luke Cage (2016-2018), Becca Hays in True Detective (2014-2019), and Rachel Ross in Harriet (2019). Ayorinde has around 24 credits on IMDb. She is also extremely enthusiastic about directing and writing.

The veteran actress joins the cast of Amazon Prime's Them in 2019. In the same year, she appeared in Fatherhood as a model, opposite Kevin Hart.

During her time at Howard, she received the prestigious Paul Robeson Best Actress prize for her performance in a short film she created and directed.
