Kirsty Wark was born on 3 February 1955 in Dumfries, Dumfriesshire, Scotland as Kirsteen Anne Wark. As of 2019, Wark is 64 years old. Further, she is the daughter of Jimmy Wark (father), a solicitor and Roberta Wark (mother), a school teacher. Concerning her education, she completed her high school education from Kilmarnock Grammar Primary School and subsequently  Ayr’s Independent Wellington School. Kirsty later studied the University of Edinburgh and pursue her degree in history.

After graduation, Wark started her journalism career as a graduate researcher for BBC Radio Scotland in 1976. Currently, she is working in the BBC proagrmame Newsnight simce 1993.  Likewise, she has worked for different BBC shows The Late Show, Doctor Who, BBC’s Absolutely Famous, A Question of Genius, The Great British Bake Off, The Politician's Husband and several more.

Beside TV career, Kirsty is also a famous author. Some of her notable books are Restless Nation: Accompanies the BBC Scotland Television Series, The Legacy of Elizabeth Pringle, and The House by the Loch. Moreover, she is also working as a team with Emily Maitlis.
