Kyle Singler is an American former professional basketball player. If Singler was judged based on his high school and college athletic accomplishments, he would be comparable to LeBron James in the NBA. 

He used to play for Duke's men's basketball team and helped them win the NCAA Championship in 2010. He is currently playing for Monbus Obradoiro of League ACB after his old team, Oklahoma City Thunder didn't make it to overtime.

Trinneer was born on May 4, 1988, in Medford, Oregon. He was raised in his hometown by his parents along with his two siblings. His birth name is Kyle Edward Singler.

In his senior level, he led his school to its first-ever state basketball championship and was selected a co-finalist for Oregon Player of the Year along with a competitor for his 29.3 point scoring average and 10.6 rebounds per game on average.

Due to his outstanding skill, he was titled as First-team Parade All-American, McDonald’s All-American, and Jordan Brand All-American, and got many high school awards.

Professional Career

Due to the 2011 NBA lockout, Kyle Singler began his professional career with the League ACB side CB Lucentum Alicante. After a few visits with the club, he decided to join Real Madrid rather than return to the NBA following the lockout. However, after winning the Spanish Royal Cup in 2012, Singler returned to the Pistons for his NBA rookie season, when he was named to the second all-rookie team.

Singler was with the organization for three years before joining the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2015. He played for Thunder for four years, including two playoff appearances in 2016 and 2017, before returning to Spain in 2018 to play for Monbus Obradoiro.

Retirement

Although Singler had a bright future as a basketball player, he announced an early retirement on October 17, 2019.

He mentioned he left his career because of some personal reason but he hasn't revealed the actual reason behind him leaving the basketball court.

Kyle's brother Edward J. Singler is also a professional basketball player. Normally, he is known as E.J. Like his brother Kyle, he completed high school at South Medford High School and attended the University of Oregon, where he played college basketball for four years.

Although E.J. was not drafted in the 2013 NBA Draft, he still managed to join Detroit Pistons for the 2013 NBA Summer League. His gameplay caught the eyes of the Portland Trail Blazers and signed him up. However, he failed to impress the couch in two season pre-season games.

After that, he joined the NBA Development League, after which he moved to Estonia in 2014. He was playing for Development League teams until 2017. Currently, he plays for Greece for Panionios.

Basketball Career During College

During Singler's early college, he averagely scored 13.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, which helped the Blue Devils to a 28–6 record.

His performances in that season garnered him ACC Rookie of the Year and sparked rumors he might emulate Kevin Love at UCLA and pursue the NBA after one season.

Singler disproved rumors he needed to mature before reaching the major leagues. As a sophomore, Singler averagely scored 16.5 points per game. In his junior year, he led the school to its fourth national championship and won NCAA Final Four MVP, and was named fourth-best player in the NCAA finals. 

Despite the fact, that Singler was hoping to enter the NBA after the championship season, he returned to Duke for completing his final year of college. As a senior at Duke, Singler averagely scored 16.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. 

After receiving his degree from Duke University, where he finished his career as the fourth-leading scorer all-time with 2,392 points, the Detroit Pistons selected him with the 33rd overall score in the 2011 NBA Draft.
