David Letterman and his second wife exchanged his marital vows with Regina Lasko on 19 March 2009 in an intimate wedding ceremony at Choteau Courthouse, Montana. The couple announced the news of their marriage on 23 March 2009.

They have been blessed with a child: son Harry Joseph Letterman born on 3 November 2003. 

Previously, David Letterman was married to his longtime girlfriend, Michelle Cook. They were together in a married relationship from 2 July 1968 to 13 October 1978. 

After the divorce from his first spouse, he dated American author and stand up comedian Merrill Markoe for a decade. 

Sex Scandal 

The same year of his marriage, David Letterman was found midst a sex scandal. Joe Halderman uncovered that he was having an extramarital affair with his female staff. Although he took steps to uncover the truth, he surrendered after pocketing $2 million. 

Due to the controversy, their wedding was on the verge of divorce. 

Later on 7 October 2009, Letterman admitted all that he has been unfaithful towards his partner and confessed: “I had sex with women who worked for me.”  

Career And Net Worth

David Letterman started his career as an American radio talk show host in 1969. His first talk show was WNTS, which was owned by an AM radio station. Later in 1975, he relocated to Los Angeles and began performing at The Comedy Store. A couple of years later, he wrote materials for shows like The Starland Vocal Band Show, Good Times, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and others. 

Finally, in June 1980, Letterman got his own show, The David Letterman Show. But, it failed as a show and got canceled in October 1980. In February 1982, he started hosting the NBC show, Late Night with David Letterman, which his fans loved. 

NBC's Johnny Carson retired in 1992, which sparked an opportunity for David Letterman at The Tonight Show, but the role was offered to Jay Leno. Soon, David left NBC and went to CBS, where a new show was launched, Late Show with David Letterman, on 30 August 1993. The CBS show ended on 20 May 2015.
