Who is David Portnoy?

Today we are discussing a blogger who is recognized worldwide for his pizza review videos and the owner of Barstool Sports. He is none other than David Portnoy.

David is an American internet blogger and celebrity. He is also known as the founder of the pop culture blog and satirical sports, Barstool Sports.

Portnoy was born on 22nd March 1977, in Massachusetts, United States of America, where another blogger Julie Powell was also born. Born to his American parents, Linda Portnoy and Michael Portnoy, he is of White ethnicity and holds American nationality. However, there is no information about David' family background. 

Regarding his studies, David studied Swamspott High School. Later he attended the University of Michigan and received a degree in education. 

After graduation, David shifted to Boston and started his career at an IT market research firm named Yankee Group. David worked for the Yankee for four years and later left the company to begin his own business as Barstool Sports. 

On 7th January 2016, Portnoy stated that The Cherin Group bought a majority stake of Barstool and the headquarters will be shifted to New York City. David gained more fame after he started doing pizza reviews. 

He also made a program named One Bite with Davey Pageviews. The concept began working in 2017 when Portney was in Manhattan. Also, he owns a comedic sports podcast, Barstool Sports, which is operated by Dan Katz.

Police Arrest

On 12th May 2015, the Barstool founder was caught by New York City police after he along with three Barstool employees handcuffed one another on the floor of NFL headquarters. The protest was made as a reaction to Deflategate.

As a consequence, Portnoy was detained in Mercedes-Benz Stadium holding cell for a portion of Super Bowl LIII. Additionally, he was banned from attending the game after he made fake passes to participate in a press event a day before.

Is David Portnoy married or single?

Talking about his personal life, David is living a married life with his long-term girlfriend, Renee Portnoy. After dating for a long time, Portnoy and his wife exchanged their wedding vows in 2009.

Since their marriage, the couple is living together happily. Moreover, David and his wife were rumored to be separated in January 2017, but it seems to be fake.

Children 

It's been almost a decade Portnoy, and his spouse are together, and there's a high possibility of them having a child.

Looking at his Instagram profile, Portnoy seems to have a son and a daughter with Renee. However, no confirmation has been made. Neither David or his partner wishes to talk about it. Hopefully, we might get to know about his children soon.

David makes decent money from his career as an internet celebrity and blogger. He has been working on this profession for more than thirteen years and no doubt, David has managed to sum up huge assets. 

As the owner of Barstool sports and his popular blog as Pizza review, he reportedly receives more than 1.4 million views in his social media, which adds up to his current wealth. Additionally, Erika Nardini, the CEO of Barstool, mentioned $25 million investment was made for the website by Cherin Group. 

In 2015, David bought a house in NYC. The mansion featured of four bedrooms, worth $2 million. As of 2019, David's total net worth is estimated to be $10 million, which is more than another American blogger Kelly Rizzo.
