It is no strange that Philip raised in the city of the UK alongside his brother, but the information about his brother is still unknown. His father is a Royal Naval Officer. Furthermore, there is no information about his high school and university. 

After completing his first training with the Royal Navy, Philip enrolled in naval air station before he joined a helicopter squadron embarked in HMS Ark Royal. 

Moreover, Avery assisted to air The Weather Network, a 24-hour cable-channel located in Birmingham, before shifting to London to serve with the Weather Channel.

The following year, Phillip joined the BBC company in April 1998. He made a regular appearance on BBC World News, BBC News, BBC Radio 2, BBC Red Button, BBC Radio Live 5. Additionally, he previously appeared as a forecaster on the BBC News at Ten, BBC News at One, and BBC News at six.

In October 2010, it was announced that Philip will no longer be serving as a news presenter at BBC weather forecasts. However, the famous journalist returned to the BBC after a few years. Since then, Avery is presenting the weather for at BBC's Gardener's World, and BBC One.
