Dennis Quaid has been married four times and is a father to three children: Complete story here!
Dennis Quaid has been Hollywood's favorite leading man for more than three decades. He is also considered one of the few A-listers to not get their due recognition. Some of Quaid's most notable credits are Breaking Away, The Right Stuff, Innerspace, The Day After Tomorrow, and Vantage Point.
Quaid, 69, a native of Houston, Texas, has surely seen a career transition in recent years, with the actor taking on more supporting roles than headlining, including in The Intruder, American Underdog, and Blue Miracle. Quaid's professional feats might not have attracted its rightful notice, but his personal life surely does.
Dennis Quaid is Married to a Woman Half His Age!
Dennis, 69, is married to his fourth wife, Laura Savoie, 30. The pair's marriage is seemingly sailing pretty smoothly, which it should since it's pretty new. The Big Easy actor met Laura at a business event in 2019 and it was love at first sight.
Looking at Dennis's handful of comments about his life with Savoie, the actor has decided on forever with her. Dennis and Savoie walked down the aisle on June 2, 2020, in Santa Barbara; the duo had gotten engaged a year earlier in 2019.
And like many celebrity couples at the time, Quaid and Savoir's planned nuptial, an exotic Hawaiin wedding, apparently, was halted by the unprecedented Covid pandemic. The world was still coping with an uncertain time when Quaid and Laura eloped to Santa Barbara.
Dishing on his chemistry with his then new-bride, The Breaking Away actor said that the two connect on their shared faith. Dennis explained, "We're both Christians and right from the start God has always had a hand in the relationship."
Since their secret wedding in 2020, Quaid and his wife have really come off as a solid team; the twosome founded their production company Bonniedale Films, in 2021. The pair's huge age difference, 39 years, was fans' constant concern at first, but the Texas-born actor has time and again assured that it isn't a factor in their relationship.
Get to Know Dennis Quaid's Wife, Laura Savoie!
Although people might perceive Laura as a trophy wife of the acclaimed actor, Savoie's profile proves she is so much more than that. Born and raised in Missouri, Laura is a learned woman, who holds degrees in accounts from Pepperdine University, and the University of Notre Dame. Laura has since also pursued a Ph.D. degree.
Given her impressive educational background and expertise in accounting, Savoie worked as a certified public accountant at Ernst & Young in Los Angeles, and later, also obtained a real estate license. In addition, Laura is also a registered yoga instructor.
Quaid previously opened up about how marrying an intellectual and fitness freak woman has changed his for the better. The Innerspace actor shares that he has also taken an interest in yoga and other fitness activities.
Dennis Quaid's Three Failed Marriages!
Before finding his forever partner in Savoie, Quaid had gone down the road of marriage a whopping three times. The Golden Globe-nominated actor was in his 20s when he walked down the aisle for the first time. Quaid met German actress P.J Soles on the sets of their 1978 film, Our Winning Season, and soon began a whirlwind romance.
The co-stars got hitched after a brief dating bliss in 1978 and got divorced in 1983. The pair didn't have any children during their brief nuptials and kept their marital episodes completely out of the spotlight. Soles married pilot Skip Holm the same year and Quaid delved into his second marriage after a few years.
Dennis's second wife, actress Meg Ryan, was also his co-star before things turned romantic. They had worked together in Innerspace and were filming for D.O.A. when the two fell in love. The twosome exchanged their vows on February 14, 1991, and welcomed their son, actor Jack Quaid, a year later.
Dennis's marriage with Meg is a relatively better-known affair than his first one. The Vantage Point actor said that Meg's soaring career and stardom affected their marriage in some ways. "I actually did feel like I disappeared. I didn't think I was that small, but I was," the actor said years after their divorce.
Quaid married his third wife, real estate agent Kimberly Buffington, on July 4, 2004. The couple welcomed their fraternal twins, Thomas Boone, and Zoe Grace, via surrogate, in 2007. Quaid and his then-wife faced an unimaginable ordeal shortly as their newborns were accidentally given an overdose of the blood thinner Heparin.
The duo's twins came out of the scare but not without days of tough battle for their lives; for which Quaid and Kimberly got $750,000 in settlement with the hospital. The signs of a rocky marriage started showing in 2012 when Buffington filed for divorce- only to withdraw it after a few days.
Quaid and actress Meg Ryan were married for ten years!
The Dragonheart actor filed for their separation the same year and asked for joint custody of their kids. The duo's on-and-off divorce filing stretched, with the couple reconciling after breaks, until 2016. Their divorce was finalized in 2018. The estranged spouses agreed to joint custody of their twins.
