After dating for more than a year, Susan and Robert merrily tied the wedding knot on August 27, 2005, in a Jewish ceremony held at Amagansett, New York, in front of their dearest ones.

On the big day, the bride Susan was looking gorgeous on her V-shaped simple silk gown that featured a long veil. She chooses a white and purple flower bouquet to walk down the aisle with Robert.

Before sharing an intimate life with Susan, an actor Robert was previously in a marital relationship with the singer Deborah Falconer. Deborah and Robert married on May 29, 1992. 

The former married pair Falconer and Downey were living merrily. They also shared a son named, Indio Falconer Downey in September 1993. 

Everything was going fine, however, Robert's recurred excursion to jail and rehab due to intensive drug intake lead the relationship towards separation. The married couple divorced on April 26, 2004.
