Choi Jisu is a South Korean singer, who popularly goes by the name Lia. She is the main vocalist of ITZY. ITZY is an all-girls Korean pop group consisting of five members. Besides her, the other group members are Yuna, Ryujin, Yeji, and Chaeryeong.

Lia stands at the height of 5 Feet and 4 Inches (163 cm) and has a body weight of 50 kg. Her zodiac sign is cancer. Let's learn a bit more about the popular vocalist.

Relationship Status: Does Lia Has A Boyfriend?

Choi Jisu is currently single and has no plans to get into a relationship anytime soon. She is still young and getting into a relationship is the least of her worry at the moment. For now, Lia is fully focused on her singing career.

The ITZY vocalist, Lia is very private about her love life. Hence, the records of her previous relationships (if any) are also missing. Since she doesn't have a personal account on Instagram, it makes it even hard to learn about her life.

Net Worth of ITZY's Lia

Choi Jisu (or, Lia) has found success through her vocals as her net worth has been estimated to be $2 Million. Singing has been her main source of income and her group ITZY can be credited to her monetary success.

ITZY despite only coming to the limelight in 2019 has found a lot of success in such a short time. Their song WANNABE is the most streamed song on Spotify, with over 280 Million streams. The song is also their most viewed song on YouTube with over 106 Million views helping them to make a lot of money.

Stole Parent's Credit Card To Learn Singing

Lia used her parent's credit card to develop her singing skills as a kid. She learned how to sing at a vocal academy without telling her mom and dad about it and even used their credit card to pay for her classes.

Korea Boo has mentioned in their article that this was brought up by Lia in one of her videos on her group's YouTube channel ITZY. The article also mentions that her parents weren't mad at her for stealing the credit card rather they supported her dream.

It's safe to say Choi Jisu wanted this as she was taking a 2-hour bus from Incheon to Gangnam for her classes.

Has A Younger Brother

LOCO singer Lia isn't the only child in her family as she has a younger brother as well. His name is Junsu. He is around four years younger than her famous sister.

Sister's fame doesn't seem to have any effect on Junsu as he lives a quiet life. Even, Lia herself hasn't revealed much about her brother and the rest of her family. One thing that is known, however, is that she grew up in a well-off family.

Choi Jisu's Controversial Statement On Chaeryeong

Lia found herself in hot water after she said about her ITZY groupmate Chaeryeong. She was accused of being a colorist after she commented on her friend's skin.

The incident took place on July 19, 2022, when ITZY was giving an interview on the radio show Noon Song of Hope. It was brought up in the interview that Chaeryeong wanted to tan her body at one point and Lia had stopped her saying that she wouldn't look good if she decided to do that.

Lia came up with an apology later where she said that she wasn't intending to hurt the sentiment of anyone. But the apology wasn't enough to change some people's opinions about her. People who were upset by her comments labeled her as a colorist and are mad at her to this day.

Educational Background

Choi Jisu found success in music at a young age, but that doesn't mean that she didn't go to college. She studied at the North London Collegiate School Jeju. South China Morning Post reports that it is one of the most expensive schools in South Korea with education fees of more than $50,000.

Before that, Blah Blah Blah singer, Lia did her high school education at The Seoul Performing Arts High School. She is a full-time vocalist now and also has done formal training to work on her vocals. She did her vocal training at JYP Entertainment in 2017.

Lia's Career Before Joining ITZY

Lia found success in her music career after becoming a member of the ITZY. JYP Entertainment, the representative of the group made her a member of the group after giving her training for two years. She first joined the company in 2017 as a trainee.

Before JYP, DALLA DALLA singer Lia was associated with another company called SM Entertainment. They are also one of the biggest names in the Korean music industry. She was 14 years old when she first joined SM Entertainment as a trainee but left without signing any deal with them.

Rumored To Be A Bully In School

Lia making colorist remarks on Chaeryeong wasn't the only controversy she found herself in. She was allegedly a bully back in her school days. This story first came to light when her former schoolmate accused her of not being a nice person in her school days.

The accuser brought this story to the world, the same month Tyler Posey and Pam made their relationship public, i.e., February 2021. It was revealed that SNEAKERS singer, Lia would take her money and also make her life difficult in school.

JYP Entertainment, who represents ITZY filed a defamation case against the accuser that Lia's image is intentionally being ruined. However, the verdict of the case didn't go in their favor. It remains to be proven if Lia was a bully or not. Many of her fans believe she is innocent and has come to her defense.
