Ko, who had just begun making waves in the digital realm, was attracted to Kreppel. At that time, Kelsey was wearing a cutoff Frank Sinatra T-shirt, jeans, and a black choker. Regarding this, the YouTuber later said, “I thought she had a really cool style and was really beautiful.”
The attraction was mutual, as Kelsey also felt a sense of comfort around him. According to Kreppel, she could open up around Ko, being silly and funny, and he understood that. The pair also took a cinnamon challenge where Cody choked up but Kelsey did not.

The YouTuber became more sure of his feelings. So, Cody asked Kelsey to be his girlfriend during the trip to San Diego, the same city where actress Melissa Schuman got married. Kreppel was quite happy, and she happily agreed to it. The pair moved into the apartment but later moved to a house in Venice.
