Delle Bolton

Delle Bolton was an American actress known for her roles in the films Jeremiah Johnson (1972) and Monk (2002).

Marriage to David Colloff

Back in 1971, Bolton married David Colloff, a screenwriter. On the set of Jeremiah Johnson, the newlywed couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary. 

Bolton remained married to Colloff until he died in 2010.

Early Life and Education

Delle Bolton was born on November 13, 1947, in New York City, New York, in a middle-class family. Her interest in theatre was evident at a very early age. Bolton attended an ordinary local high school and soon became very active in the different school drama clubs. 

Soon after high school, she recently entered the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City to further train her acting skills.

Acting Career

Beginnings and Breakthrough Roles

Bolton began working as a professional actress in the early 1970s, guest-starring in television and film. In 1972, she was cast as Swan in the Western movie Jeremiah Johnson, which starred Robert Redford. 

The movie turned out to be a huge critical and box-office success; Bolton's performance also did not go unnoticed.

Subsequent Roles

Following the success of Jeremiah Johnson, Bolton continued to work steadily in film and television. Some of her notable roles include:

• Mrs. Townsend in the TV series Monk (2002)
• Recurring role in the TV series Barnaby Jones (1973–1988)
• Supporting role in the film The Choirboys (1977)
