Her father, Simon Kirke, was a drummer for seminal bands like Free and Bad Company, while her mother, Lorraine, had a boho-chic boutique in NYC. Surrounded by music and clothes, Domino had her rhythm right from the beginning. 

By age six, she was playing piano and singing in choirs. Music was not a hobby, really, but something that she was. She started writing songs at age 11, with depth and maturity that belied her years. She had a clear voice, not just in terms of sound but in terms of vision. 

Domino attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in New York, where she studied classical voice and piano.
