Brooke Shields has been married twice: The actress is a doting mother of two!  

Brooke Shields rose to massive stardom when she played the child protagonist in the 1978 drama film, Pretty Baby. The disturbing film not only made Sheilds a subject of nationwide obsession but also pigeonholed Shields for similar roles. Shields was sexualized throughout her childhood as she went on to play semi-nude roles in Just You and Me, Kid, The Blue Lagoon, and more.  

Born on May 31, 1965, in Manhattan, New York, to a then-jobbing model Teri Shields, Brooke's Brooke's career was shepherded by her mother, who let a 10-year-old Shields pose for the Playboy publication and consented to her playing a prostituted child in Pretty Baby. Shields, now at 58, might still be viewed with the same lens, but the actress has since come out of the typecast.   

Who is Brooke Shields' Married to? 

Shields and her husband Chris Henchy have been married for over two decades. It goes without saying that the long-married couple is still thriving and enjoying their marital bliss. Throughout their life together as husband and wife, the duo has mostly kept it low, but Brooke has shared some insightful stories that make us believe that the two are indeed meant for each other.   

Brooke's husband, Henchy, 59, is a screenwriter and producer. Chris has been in the business for a long time and has worked on some stellar projects like Spin City, The Other Guys, Entourage, Land of the Lost, and more. Shields and Henchy's meet-cute could be a plot for a perfect rom-com flick.  

The Lipstick Jungle actress shared how she and Henchy had a chance meeting when she took her dog to meet her friends at the Warner Bros. lot, in 1999. "To this day I believe that I fell in love with Chris the day we met," Shields wrote in her memoir, Down Came the Rain.    

The next time Brooke and Chris crossed paths, she was newly single after her first divorce. The duo started dating shortly after and got engaged within a year when the two were vacationing in Mexico, in July 2000. Fearing the inundated media scrutiny around their relationship, Shields and Henchy efficiently avoided the buzz.    

The duo's wedding in April 2001 was a small ceremony on Catalina Island in California, followed by a second ceremony on May 26, 2001, in Palm Beach. The relatively low-key couple has since welcomed two kids. Their firstborn, Rowan, was born in 2003, and second baby, Grier, in 2006.    

The Pretty Baby actress has divulged much about her motherhood journey, including her battle with postpartum depression. Brooke has detailed her struggle in her 2006 memoir and in the two-part documentary, Pretty Baby. "I really didn't want to live anymore," says the Endless Love actress while recalling her battle.   

Shields' older daughter, Rowan, is often spotted with her famous mother on movies' sets, and in Hollywood events. Rowan went to Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem in 2021 and Brooke gushed about how her baby was fast growing and blossoming. "'Wow, she's really her own person and I've done my best in my job," Brooke said as she shared some emotional anecdotes of her daughter.    

The actress's youngest, Grier, 17, is steadily following in her mom's footsteps as a model. Grier landed her first notable modeling gig when she posed for Victoria's Secret's Mother's Day campaign. Shields has been vocal about her reluctance to let her daughters venture into showbiz, but the doting mother has seemingly made an exception for Grier.   

Crediting her daughter's strong character and penchant for modeling, Shields says, "To watch her handle herself in a way, it makes me realize, okay, she's a pretty strong character. So I don't feel like this business will eat her up."

Brooke, like most A-list starlets in the industry, has a past of her own. Before the Blue Lagoon actress found her soulmate in Henchy, she courted a string of well-known men. Shields was only a teen and a budding star when she was linked with her then-fellow child star, Scott Baio.   

Brooke had her first notable relationship with actor John Travolta. Their pairing was reportedly done by Shields' mother. It was later revealed that the two were platonic throughout their brief relationship. Shields was famously linked with the king of pop Michael Jackson when she was just 13, and Jackson was 19.   

Even though the press and fans were somewhat confident of the duo's romance, Shields denied sharing any relationship with Michael other than friendship. "We just felt safe with each other," Brooke once replied when asked about her close bond with the now-late legend.

The former child star allegedly ended all ties with Jackson after he blatantly lied about having a romantic relationship with Shields on national television.  
Despite diving into the dating pool pretty early, Brooke lost her virginity relatively later in life.  

The Pretty Baby actress shared she was 21 when she first got physical with actor Dean Cain, whom she had met during her time away from the industry at Princeton University. Following her brief romance with Cain, Brooke enjoyed another futile, yet fun time with actor Liam Neeson, who reportedly proposed to her (without a ring).    

The Blue Lagoon actress walked down the aisle for the first time in 1997 when she married pro tennis player, Andre Agassi. whom she started dating in the early 90s. Things started going downhill when jealousy got the best of Agassi, who made a big scene after watching Brooke's titillating scene with Matt LeBlanc on Friends, and the pair finalized their divorce in 1999.
