Dean McDermott is a Canadian actor, television personality, and a trained chef. Given his multi-faceted profession, McDermott has ventured into various endeavors over the years. His acting credits include Due South, Open Range, and Against the Ropes. He was the sole host of the loved show, Chopped Canada, for four seasons. 

It's no secret that the Toronto-born actor has garnered limited fame throughout his career. McDermott, instead, is better known for his highly publicized marriage with actress and author, Tori Spelling. The duo's enduring nuptial has now come to cease after over a year of speculation. McDermott and Spelling's marriage has come to a wrap after eighteen years. The duo navigated a plethora of scandals and turbulence throughout the period but seemingly came out of it stronger. Fans have been calling the duo's split announcement "out of the blue" as Dean and Tori seemed to be sailing smoothly in recent months.   

Dean and Tori had the divorce long coming, considering that the pair didn't start off their relationship on the right foot and embroiled in many controversies, including a cheating scandal, after the onset of their shared journey. Both McDermott and Spelling were married to their former spouses when the two started an illicit affair.  

In her blunt memoir, STORI Telling, Tori, 50, best known for her roles in Beverly Hills, 90210, A Friend to Die For, and Saved By the Bell, writes how she didn't feel an ounce of regret for cheating on her then-husband, writer Charlie Shanian, with McDermott.   

If anything, Tori explains, the affair made her realize there was something wrong with her marriage with Charlie. The Canadian actor and Tori tied the knot less than two months after abandoning their spouses, on May 7, 2006. The couple certainly had their moments of bliss in private, but the way the world saw it, their nuptial spawn a string of misfortunes from the get-go. 

Shortly after the duo's private nuptial in May 2006, Tori's renowned father, Aaron Spelling, died of a stroke, putting the Beverly Hills actress in a feud with her own mother and brother for inheritance. Spelling family drama ensued amid her growing family with the Due South actor. 

The couple welcomed their firstborn, Liam, in March 2007 and went on to document their marital life on the reality series Tori and Dean: Inn Love, and later in, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever, True Tori- which showcased the actress suffering a breakdown after finding out about McDermott's affair with a 28-year-old.  

After experiencing a cheating scandal, a close call-off, and Tori's mom, Candy, blaming her and Dean's marriage, for Aaron's death, the duo alleged to have moved past it all. Dean even proposed to Tori for the third time in April 2016, but the drama was far from over.

The duo hit financial woes headlines in the next few years as they expanded their family to welcome four more babies, Finn, Beau, Stella, and Hattie. Dean and Tori's relationship looked strained once again in 2021 when Spelling revealed they weren't sharing a bedroom.  

The divorce speculations went on for over a year, with Spelling keeping mum on the topic, while McDermott asserting that they were trying their best to work it out like every time. And...you guessed it right, the bargaining worked for a couple of months until recently, when Dean, himself, announced their split on Instagram.  

The Truth About Dean McDermott's First Marriage!  

McDermott and his first wife, actress Mary Jo Eustace, buried the hatched a long time ago. After Dean cheated on her and forsook his family with Eustace to start a new one with Spelling, things turned grim between the two for many years. The Chopped Canada host married Eustace in 1993 and welcomed a son with her in 1998.  

Although not much is known about the duo's marital bliss, their divorce and aftermath of the scandal is an open book. The year Spelling released her memoir, STORI Telling memoir, where she subtly justified her affair with Dean, Eustace released her memoir, Divorce Sucks, which unveiled her side of the story.   

The estranged couple eventually came around after a prolonged period of bitterness. During Eustace's appearance on McDermott's podcast, Daddy Issues, the actress revealed how Tori helped in breaking the ice between the two. Dean, on the other hand, dished on their spiteful years following the divorce.  

Dean and Eustace have not only called a truce but have also formed a beautiful blended family. The Chopped Canada host has even embraced Eustace's daughter, Lola Eustace, who she adopted as a single mother, into his huge family.   

McDermott recently commemorated his ex's daughter's high school graduation with a sweet caption. "So proud of this young lady. She graduated yesterday," Dean wrote, adding, "The world is yours. The robes were so chic, I had to get in on the action. Ha Ha. Love you, Lo Lo."
