Inside Robin Thicke's high-profile love life: The Grammy-nominated singer is a doting father to four!   

Known for his slew of hit singles, Robin Thicke is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and record producer. A Canadian-American showbiz scion, Thicke kicked off his career as a child actor, appearing alongside his famous parents. Inclining toward his parents' musical talent, Thicke landed his big break in music.  

Born on March 10, 1977, in Los Angeles, California, to Gloria Loring, and Alan Thicke, Robin's early acting credits include The Wonder Years, Just the Ten of Us, and The New Lassie. After releasing his debut single, When I Get You Alone, Thicke evolved to become a standard R&B star throughout the 2000s. But it wasn't until his 2013 album, Blurred Lines, featuring Pharell, that Thicke catapulted to become a pop titan, as well as a disputed popstar.

Thicke has weathered some troubling times in his professional as well as his personal life. When he shot to fame with Blurred Lines, the singer garnered pop infamy at the same time. With critics alleging the singer's controversial song to be sexist and bashing it for proposing sexual violence, Thicke's high-profile split from his first wife, Paula Patton, only made the matter worse.   

Thicke's relationship history only consists of his long-time relationship, which ultimately led to their marriage, with Patton. Robin was only 14 when he met 16-year-old actress Patton at a hip-hop club in 1991. The pair went from being teenage sweethearts, and showbiz aspirants to achieving a stellar celebrity status over the course of the decade-spanning relationship.   

They were together for nearly fourteen years and for another nine years as spouses after their wedding in 2005. The Lost Without You crooner and Patton welcomed a son, Julian, in April 2010. Throughout their romance, Thicke, and Patton kept it hot and heavy, and open with the public.   

Patton once even revealed herself to be a "crazy girlfriend" by sharing how she hid outside of Thicke's house on the suspicion that he was cheating on her. Despite being excessively open about their love and sex life, the duo's relationship didn't stand test of the time.    

After nine years of marriage, Patton filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences", in 2014, and with it followed a contentious custody battle. Refuting the cheating rumors that had been swirling amid their separation, Thicke largely put the blame on himself.   

"There's a long list," said the singer, adding, "I changed, and I got a little too selfish, a little too greedy, and a little too full of myself." In his seventh studio album, Paula, the singer spilled his feelings in an effort to win back his lady, but all with no luck.   

It was later revealed that the duo's withering relationship, worsened by the copyright infringement against Robin for Blurred Lines, and his alcohol problems were the ultimate catalysts behind their split. The estranged couple has since gone on their individual journey before coming around and breaking the ice to be ideal parents to their son.

"There's so much emotion when you first break up, and there's so much stuff that spills over," said the Grammy-nominated singer while dishing on his relationship with his ex-wife. Thicke adds, "Once you can put yourself second, your son rises to the top and you go, 'It's not about us anymore.'"  

A Look at Robin Thicke's Relationship with April Love Geary!  

Since calling it quits with Patton, Thicke has had only one woman by his side. Whereas his ex-wife is still taking her time finding the right man for herself. Patton has been dating Zachary Quittman for a while now. Thicke has been engaged to model April Love Geary since 2018. Robin's romance with April started at the heels of his split from Patton in 2014.   

The singer and his young girlfriend, who is reportedly 17 years his junior, made their public debut at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Thicke and Geary have been pretty much unbreakable since then. Some might see the duo's long-due wedding as a sign of a crumbling relationship, and sure, the couple has faced some bumps through their journey, but Thicke and Geary have been open about their hiccups.  

The twosome, who have welcomed three children; daughter Mia, in February 2018, daughter Lola, in February 2019, and son Luca, in December 2020, are working out their differences via couples therapy. Appearing on the Black Girl Texting podcast in February 2021, the Blurred Line singer shared how therapy bettered his personal life.   

"Couples therapy has been great for me and April, and it’s been great for me and Paula in co-parenting," Thicke explained, adding, "We've had a few sessions and it's really helped for us, so I am a total believer in therapy."
