Inside Tiffany Haddish's relatively unexplored personal life: The comedian has been married and divorced once!
It hasn't been that long since Tiffany Haddish broke into the scene as a talented comedian, and yet, it seems like we've known her forever. Probably because the comedian has consequently given remarkable performances in the last few years. Haddish rose to fame after starring in the 2017 comedy film, Girls Trip, also starring Jada Pinkett-Smith and Regina Hall.
Born on December 3, 1979, in South Central Los Angeles, California, Tiffany had a tough upbringing. Haddish and her siblings spent most of their childhood in foster care. The now-Grammy winner recalls it was there in the midst of turmoil that she found solace in comedy. Tiffany started her journey in the stand-up comedy competition, Bill Bellamy's Who's Got Jokes? followed by a string of roles in movies until her 2017 breakthrough.
Inside Tiffany Haddish's Dating History!
Throughout her comparatively young career in the industry, Haddish has kept her romantic life private, which, in turn, has made fans more curious and spawned some discrepant reports about her personal life. But even with all the reticence and hush-hush romances, Haddish's love life has definitely had its fair share of spotlight moments.
The Girls Trip alum has given fans minimal insights into her life via rare interviews and her hilarious comedy routines, and it was on one of them that Haddish revealed she had a fling with the early-2000s rap star Chingy before rising to stardom. Much of Haddish's personal life is defined by her long-term romance with Academy-winning rapper Common.
The pair met on the sets of the 2019 crime drama, The Kitchen, and hit it off during the Pandemic. The two had been subjects of rumored romance when they appeared in Bumble's virtual dating campaign. A source later confirmed the rumor and revealed that their relationship turned stronger when the world was forced to the constraints of their home in 2020.
By the end of what was a dreadful year for the world, Tiffany, experiencing the year of a lifetime, was already family planning with Common. "I just want to bring to their survival skills, share everything that I know with them," the Grammy-winning comedian said as she divulged what she and the rapper had discussed about their potential shared parenthood.
But before fans could see the couple living their ultimate dream of a beautiful family, Haddish and Common's romance fizzled out. In November 2021, a source close to the duo revealed that had amicably called it quits after one year of dating.

The Like A Boss actress also confirmed her split from Common and admitted to "missing him from time to time." "I think, any intimate relationship that you might have, you miss them. But I'm fine with it. It's cool," Tiffany confessed.
The Girls Trip actress was last linked with comedian Reggie Watts after both posted a snap with the caption, "Hey we're dating and we made money on our first date." Fans aren't sure whether to take the post seriously since both are known for their playful demeanors.
Tiffany Haddish has Been Married and Divorced Once!
This particular piece of news might come as a surprise to many but yes, the comedian-turned-actress has been down the road of marriage. In her 2017 memoir, The Last Black Unicorn, which unveils Tiffany's poverty-stricken journey, and her life before fame, of course, with a hue of deadpan humor, Tiffany writes about her rollercoaster experience in marriage.
The Emmy-winning comedian married army veteran William Stewart in 2008 after he helped Tiffany find her once-estranged father, Tsihaye Reda Haddish. Haddish recalls her wedding ceremony as "one of the happiest days" of her life, with her father walking her down the aisle, and Stewart, who she thought was the love of her life, awaiting her excitedly at the arch.
The duo's marriage ended after Haddish filed for divorce in 2013. Tiffany shares very little information on what took place during her conjugal years with Stewart, but judging by the actress's dismayed words, it wasn't a happy marriage. In fact, if anything, it was riddled with fights and abuses.
In her book, Tiffany accuses her ex-husband of being abusive, a claim which later prompted Stewart to file a defamation lawsuit against the comedian. Although we didn't hear about the aftermath of the lawsuit, the estranged spouses and Tiffany's publisher reportedly settled the case in private.
