Fans were right about Jackson's troubled personal life after all. Jackson's marriage with actress Jodie Turner-Smith has ended after only four years. Although sources alleged that the Dawson's Creek actor has been taken off-guard by the filing, eagled-eyed fans saw this almost a year ago.   

Joshua and Smith briefly unfollowed each other on social media last year in September, sending clear signs of bumps. Another clue came earlier this year when Jackson said something about extra-marital affairs being a venial crime in a marriage. Joshua's wife of four years, Smith, 37, reportedly filed for divorce earlier this week.  

A source close to The Mighty Ducks actor said, "They had their issues, as many couples do — especially two busy actors who are also juggling a child." Shedding light on Jackson's bewilderment, the insider adds, "Joshua obviously didn't realize it was this bad, that Jodie was this unhappy."   

The now-estranged spouses were once deemed the "perfect match" by their close acquaintances. Jackson and Smith first sparked rumors at Usher's 40th birthday party where they shared a hot moment. An observer at the time said, "(They were) super smitten and gazing into each other’s eyes as they danced together the whole night."  

The swirling rumor soon turned into a confirmed headline after the pair made several PDA-packed appearances in the following months. Within months of their dating bliss, the lovebirds had secretly tied the knot in August 2019. And the joyful news was only confirmed after the twosome revealed they were expecting their first kid, in December 2019.   

The Dawson's Creek actor and Jodie welcomed their daughter, Juno Rose Diana, in April 2020. Throughout the years, both Jackson and Smith candidly gushed about their blissful family life, and their growing adoration for one another. "She is undeniably one of the most beautiful women on the planet," the actor gushed about his wife last year.  

Jackson's estranged wife, Jodie Turner-smith, an England-born actress, and model, reportedly decided to end things with the Canadian actor after their marriage turned unhealthy. "It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy. They will co-parent their daughter. They want her to continue to thrive," a source close to Smith shared.

Smith is best known for starring in the TNT series, The Last Ship. The Brit made her acting debut in True Blood in 2013. The actress came to prominence over the years with her roles in The Neon Demon, Queen & Slim, White Noise, and Anne Boleyn.

Jackson and Holmes started dating during the show's first run but kept things unofficial until the very end. The Canadian actor was linked with another Dawson's Creek star, Brittany Daniel, in 1999. Jackson's longest, and most famous romantic stint was with German actress Diane Kruger. Joshua and Diane were together for nearly a decade, from 2006 to 2016.  

During their ten-year-long relationship, which, unlike Jackson's earlier romances, was very public, and easily scrutinized, the actor and model pair embraced each other's profession and even mingled with one another's respective family. The couple often asserted that the marriage wasn't the ultimate step in their relationship.  

And as all relationships with no foreseeable future do, Jackson and Kruger's relationship also came crashing down in 2016. "Diane Kruger and Josh Jackson have decided to separate and remain friends," a rep shared. The German model later shared that their breakup was a result of months of bumps, and cracks.
