Brooks crossed paths with Mahl in the early 80s at the onset of his career. Garth and Sandy took things slow and courted each other for years. Finally, the pair tied the knot in 1986.   

Garth and Sandy eventually moved to Nashville. And in Nashville, Mahl and her husband, Brooks, welcomed three daughters, Taylor, August, and Allie. 

The country musician and his wife kept much known about the duo's 15-year-long marriage hidden. However, several sources have chimed in on the reason behind their split. Many claimed Brooks' new and fast-growing career led to the demise of his married life.

The country crooner would reportedly spend most of his time away from home. It gradually took a toll on his marital life. In the documentary, Garth Brooks: The Road I'm On, Mahl says they still share a beautiful friendship.

Trisha Yearwood Married Thrice in Her Life!

While Garth has been married only once before, his current wife, Trisha, has two ex-husbands. Yearwood tied the knot with Chris Latham for four years. Similarly, Trisha was married to the bassist Robert Reynolds for five years.

The two-time Grammy winner Garth Brooks doesn't share any kids with Trisha Yearwood. However, he is a doting father of three girls from his first marriage.

The Learning to Live Again hitmaker welcomed his oldest, Taylor, in 1992. Named after singer James Taylor, Garth's oldest daughter graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2020.

The country crooner's second-born, August, arrived in Garth and Sandy's world in 1994. August was working at a law firm when she welcomed a daughter, and later, one more with her high school sweetheart and now ex-husband, Chance Michael Russell. 

The singer's youngest, Allie, born in 1996, is the only one to follow in her father's footsteps. She released her debut album, Stones, in April 2021. Allie has been married to teacher Jonathan Roberts since 2018.

Garth's early skyrocketing career affected his marriage with Sahl and strained his relationship with his daughters.
