Born on July 18, 1980, in Huntington Woods, Michigan, Bell's incoming life in entertainment stemmed from her childhood, when she would actively participate in her school's productions. She made her film debut in the 2001 comedy Pootie Tang and has been a staple in comedies ever since.

Although Bell and Dax have been married for nearly ten years, the pair's initial thoughts about each other weren't pleasant. Actor Dax recalls perceiving the actress as pompously and unnecessarily happy, and Bell's thoughts on Shepard was "he talked too much." 

The duo's disfavouring opinions about each other changed after their second meet-up! Kristen and Shepard met at the Detroit Red Wings hockey game in 2007.   

Four months into their dating bliss, the love birds separated over not being on the same page. Bell, being a serial monogamist, wanted surety and stability. Shepard was experimenting with his way into relationships after just coming out of a long relationship.

But the breakup was nothing more than a bump as the two patched up things quickly. The loved-up couple worked on their first film in 2009, When in Rome; the same year, Bell and Shepard announced their engagement.   

The couple celebrated another milestone- conceiving their first kid after starring in, Hit and Run in 2012. Kristen and her fiancée welcomed their first daughter, Lincoln Bell Shepard, in March 2018.

The twosome exchanged their vows on October 17, 2013. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the Beverly Hills courthouse. 

Bell, 42, now exuding the features of a quintessential American wife, said the marriage gave them a "sense of security." The Bad Moms actress and her husband welcomed their second daughter, Delta Bell Shepard, in December 2014, a year after their nuptials.

The spouses haven't dwelled on expanding their family since, at least, not publicly. But like every marriage, Bell and Dax's marital life isn't without flaws.

Dax Shepard, 48, has a career as colorful as his famous wife. Aside from being a renowned actor and filmmaker, Shepard is a comedian and podcast host. 

The Michigan-born rose to fame in the early 2000s with Punk'd,  Zathura: A Space Adventure, and Without a Paddle.   

After landing a few leading roles, including in Let's Go to Prison, Baby Mama, and When in Rome, Shepard steadily branched his career into television, directing, and writing. A few of his directorial credits are Hit and Run and CHiPs.  

Shepard has battled substance abuse problems since his teenage years. The actor has been on and off in his sobriety journey.

Kristen Bell's dating history isn't as fascinating as her professional stint. The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actress even experienced an aversion to dating. But not before she underwent a heartbreak. 

Bell dated producer Kevin Mann before Shepard. The House of Lies actress and Kevin were together for five years before they split ways in 2007. However, little is known about Bell's long-dissolved relationship with the producer. 

Following their split, Kristen shared that she believes herself to be an ardent monogamist, but just the improbability of monogamy made her reluctant to date. 

Bell said, "(Dating) makes me want to vomit. And not out of grossness—OK, a little bit out of grossness."

The Michigan native doesn't have any bad blood with her ex-boyfriend. And, in fact, Bell continues to be friends with Kevin. The ex-partners have worked on Fanboys and three short films.
