Bethenny Frankel has been married twice: The television star is a mother to one!
Widely known for starring in Bravo's television series The Real Housewives of New York City, Bethenny Frankel is a reality television star and businesswoman. Unlike her fellow high-maintenance Bravo housewives, most of whom splurge on their affluent husbands' bank balance, Frankel is a self-made woman.
Born on November 4, 1970, in New York City, in a financially insecure home, Frankel's journey from owing $20,000 in credit debt to building a multi-million dollar empire is as illustrious as it is empowering. Known for her brash and relentless deportment, Frankel cemented her multi-millionaire entrepreneur status with her global SkinnyGirl brand.
Inside Bethenny Frankel's Dating History!
For the ever-charming Bethenny Frankel, career and love have always gone hand in hand. Her quest to find the one is as old as her search for fame and success. Throughout her life in the spotlight, Frankel has dated a variety of powerful men, from businessmen, and moguls, to sportsmen.
And being a reality show girl, she has been obliged to keep it open and honest. Bethenny's first public relationship was probably a mistake. She married her then-friend and Hollywood producer, Peter Sussman, in 1996- only to divorce the guy a year later.
Frankel's first short-lived nuptial was followed by another one. She was married to pharmaceutical sales executive, Jason Hoppy, from March 2010 to December 2012; during which they welcomed their daughter, Bryn. The estranged couple's contentious divorce battle was only settled in March 2021.
The Skinny Girl founder also boasts a slew of short-lived romances, including with financier Michael “Mac” Cerussi III, who she dated briefly after filing for divorce from Hoppy. The list also includes financier Jason Colodne, who was Frankel's first boyfriend when she joined RHONY and Marcus Lemonis.
Hopping onto Bethenny's better-known relationships, the businesswoman once dated former baseball player Alex Rodriguez, better known as A-Rod. But it wasn't much of a relationship as it was an almost romantic meet-up; Bethenny revealed she and A-Rod, who famously dated Jennifer Lopez, only went on two dates.
The Bravo star once revealed that she briefly romanced Trevor Engelson, a film producer, and ex-husband of Meghan Markle. Bethenny also shared how things fizzled out before they could take it to the relationship level. After many short-term romances, Frankel delved into an on-and-off relationship with late entrepreneur Dennis Shields, who she had known for thirty years.
Shields died of an alleged overdose four months after he proposed to Frankel, in August 2018. "She lost her best friend, her partner, her business partner," an insider said at the time. But it didn't take the grief-stricken television star long to find love again.
Who is Bethenny Frankel Dating?
Since the tragic passing of her then-fiancé, Bethenny has been in a relationship with businessman Paul Bernon. The ever-candid reality television star revealed that she met Bernon on a dating app in 2018. "He came as advertised — better than advertised. He overshot the mark," said the Skinny Girl founder.
The duo hit it off immediately and the Bravo fame has since been gushing about Bernon. Early on in their relationship, Bethenny tweeted about how Paul saved her life after she suffered an allergic. Revealing her severe fish allergy, Frankel shared that she spent two days in ICU.
Bethenny and Paul's kept their romance official and open from the get-go but they weathered some bumps along the way. In October 2020, a year and a half after their dating bliss, headlines about the duo's breakup surfaced. In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Frankel confirmed the breakup and asserted their cordial relationship, only to rekindle their romance in January 2021.
After the Skinny Girl founder finalized her long-stretched divorce from Hoppy in early 2021, she and Bernon announced their engagement the next month. It's been over two years since the couple got engaged and fans have surely had questions about their long engagement, but the loved-up duo remains calm.
Despite being engaged for a long time, Frankel and Paul are in no rush to plan a wedding!
Addressing the suspicions around their wedding plans and relationship, Frankel said, "We are happy with where we are. I'm not a spring chicken, so it's not like we're rushing." They might not be in a rush for their wedding but the couple plans to go for a small and intimate wedding.
