Michael J. Fox had already raked esteemed awards, including five Emmys, four Golden Globes, and a Grammy. But it was before Fox suffered Parkinson's disease, which cut his stellar career short. Fox is most prominently known for his early roles in Family Ties, Back to the Future, Teen Wolf, and The Secret of My Success.
Fox, 61, was diagnosed with Parkinson's, a chronic degenerative disorder, in 1991. Michael has since slowly departed from his career as an actor. Fox has put an ardent effort to find a cure for the disease and has advocated for it relentlessly. Thankfully the Emmy-winning actor, and his wife, Tracy Pollan, have been his constant partner and rock throughout the battle.

Thirty-four years into their marriage and many adversities later, Michael J. Fox and his wife, Tracy Pollan, are still going strong. The pair are rightfully considered one of the most enduring couples in Hollywood.
Fox and Pollan have been married since 1988 and look forward to stepping into their 35th anniversary this coming July. Fox's early and unfortunate diagnosis might have hit his career hard, but the disease has strengthened his bond with his wife and their four children.
The long-married were recently spotted enjoying an ice hockey game in Madison Square. Their sweet date comes ahead of Michael's new documentary, Still, which will take viewers through Fox's journey with Parkinson's and his life before that.
Michael and Tracy met on the sets of Family Ties in 1985. The pair played each others' love interests on the show but didn't start a romantic relationship immediately as Fox and Pollan were committed to other people; Michael with Nancy McKeon and Tracy with actor Kevin Bacon.
It took the duo one more film together, right Lights, Big City, in 1987, to finally take their relationship up a notch. Their whirlwind romance moved fast, with them going official the same year and Fox proposing to Tracy at the end of 1987.
"I wasn't really worried that she would say no," the Back to the Future actor said at the time.
Fox and Pollan tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony on July 16, 1988, in Woodstock, Vermont. The newly married were blessed with their first kid a year later and thriving when Fox's diagnosis shook them to their core.
"It was incomprehensible," Michael said of the diagnosis. Unable to cope with reality, the acclaimed actor fell into alcoholism and depression.

The Emmy winner later credited his wife for pulling him out of the dark place.
"Any good in our family, anything good that we do, comes from her," Michael said about his wife before sharing that "Tracy gives our family everything that we need."
Pollan once said that her husband's disease pushed the couple to believe that it was them against the world.

With a sick husband and a large brood to tend to, Tracy Pollan hasn't had much time to extend her career. But she once had a flourishing career.
Born in Long Island and raised in Woodbury, Tracy started acting at a young age. She was in her early 20s when Pollan got her professional start as a theatre actress.
The Long Island-born landed her breakthrough role as Ellen Reed on Family Ties in 1985 and played the part till 1987. After her nuptials with Fox, Pollan has raked substantial credits on television, including in Spin City, Medium, The Michael J. Fox Show, and the recent, Inventing Anna.

The Emmy-winning actor and his wife have brought four beautiful children into the world. Fox takes much pride in being their father.
"Our children are beautiful, sensitive, intelligent, empathetic, independent, compassionate, adventurous, lovely people," one of Michael's many tributes to his children read.
The Family Ties alums welcomed their firstborn, Sam Michael Fox. Sam, anyone can see, looks much like his acclaimed father. The couple welcomed Sam two years before they were hit with the grim news.
And accordingly, Michael and his wife were on cloud nine. Fox's oldest son works in the entertainment industry. So far, Sam has produced several projects.
"We did the whole womb music deal, where we put the headphones on Tracy's stomach and played everything from Vivaldi to the Allman Brothers," the doting father said.
The couple's second-born are twins, Aquinnah and Schuyler, 28. As per the twin duo's socials and Linkedin profile, they aren't an active member of the showbiz industry except for the fact that they are the daughters of an Emmy-winning actor.
Fox and Pollan's youngest, Esmé Annabelle Fox, 21, was born to them in November 2001. Esmé has reportedly undertaken a major at Duke University.
"Our youngest is going off to college, so we are going to be empty nesters, so, we are going to do some traveling," Fox wrote after Esmé's departure to college.
