Gruffudd met Evans, best known for her credits in Highlander, The Mentalist, and Grimm, while filming for the 2000 crime comedy, 102 Dalmatians. The duo started shortly after their meet-cute and spent a significant time together before finally deciding on each other for life.
The King Arthur actor and his then-bride, Evans, exchanged their vows on September 14, 2007, at a dreamy ceremony in Mexico. The couple welcomed two kids, Ella, and Elsie, over the course of their 13-year-long marriage. The first time the media gained the sense of the trouble in the duo's paradise was when Gruffudd got candid about in 2020.
While confessing to a rough patch in his marriage, Gruffudd revealed how he and Evans had been struggling to keep their life afloat for the past few years. She further added, "Me and our young daughters are very confused and sad." The 102 Dalmatians actress wrote that Gruffudd didn't give her a plausible reason as to why he was ending things with her, except for "he 'no longer loves me.' I'm so sorry."
Things only got worse from thereon after Alice's tweet disappeared from the platform and the actress later blamed it on her ex-husband. "I didn't delete the tweet from a few hours ago about him leaving. He did. And hell, yes when I am being gaslit and mentally tortured then hell yes, I will wash my linen in public, read the follow-up tweet.
Although it seems that the duo's marriage had just run its course, there has been rumors of infidelity on Gruffudd's part. The Fantastic Four star's budding romance with Bianca Wallace, who is now his fiancé, also surfaced around the same time.
While most celebrities opt to manage break-ups with grace and conscious decision-making, Gruffudd and Alice's case has been a haphazard approach. It seems the King Aruthur actor has also strained his relationship with his kids because he couldn't handle the situation any better.
Amid his divorce from Evans, Ioan's daughter, Ella, filed for a restraining order against her father's young girlfriend after claiming that Wallace "slammed" a door on her. After few rough years, Gruffudd and his new lady love, Bianca Wallace, are at last, navigating in their relationship in the right direction. The King Arthur star took to Instagram to announce the exciting news. "The most previous thing happened," Gruffudd wrote in the caption of a pic that showed the couple in their joyful moment as Wallace raised her hand to show her ring.
Fans and several celebs have since congratulated the couple on their milestone, including actress Selma Blair, who wrote, "I am heartened. The match was fated. True love wins. I am so happy for you both. So happy. ♥ I love you."
Gruffudd's engagement news comes months after his ex-wife claimed to have found love again in August. While commemorating her 55th birthday, the English American actress wrote, "I am SO in love right now and cannot believe I only felt this level of intense love at 55. More info coming."
