Jessica Burton's parents, Richard Burton and Sybil Christopher, met for the first time when they were shooting for the film The Last Days of Dolwyn. Soon then, they started dating each other. 

After sharing a few years of romance, the pair decided to change their relationship's name from sweethearts to a husband and wife. Then, the couple exchanged marriage vows in 1949 in front of their families, relatives, and friends.

However, their connection did not work for a lifetime, and they separated in 1963. Richard's extramarital relationship with Elizabeth Taylor was the reason behind their split. Sybil received $1 million as a divorce settlement from her ex-husband, Richard.

After her divorce, she tied the knot with musician Jordan Christopher in 1964. They enjoyed a blissful married life as husband and wife for over three decades before Jordan died in 1996. From her second marriage, Jessica's mother and stepfather shared a daughter. 

After her husband's demise, she lived a single life. Unfortunately, Jessica's mother Sybil passed away at the age of 83 in New York City in March 2013.

As for Burton's dad, Richard died at the age of 58 from a cerebral hemorrhage. Reportedly, Richard used to drink excessive alcohol and smoke.

Following the divorce from his first wife, on 15 March 1964, Richard hitched her second wife, Elizabeth Taylor, the most popular star of Classical Hollywood cinema in the 1950s. But their relationship did not work well, and they separated on 26 June 1974.

Again, after sixteen months of their divorce, Burton and Taylor remarried on 10 October 1975. Despite trying marriage a second time, they could not live together for a lifetime, and they again got divorced on 29 July 1976.

Later, a month after his second divorce from Taylor, Richard tied the knot with his third wife, Suzu Miller, a model in August 1976. Like his first and second marriages, this one also ended in divorce in 1982.

At last, Richard exchanged the marriage vows with his fourth wife, Sally Hay Burton, a makeup artist, in 1983. He was married to Sally till his death in 1984.
