Stand Up comedian Jo was born on 2nd June 1971 in Tacoma, Washington, the United States, as Joseph Glenn Herbert. His father, Jack Herbert, was in the United States Air Force, while his mother, Josie Harrison, was a banker at Wells Fargo. His mother is from the Philippines.

Furthermore, Koy attended Spanaway Lake High School and Foss High School in Tacoma. Later, he enrolled at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Interestingly he dropped out his college to pursue a career in stand-up comedy.
