Kultida Woods, professional golfer Tiger Woods's mother was born on 30th September 1946 in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. Originating from Thailand, Kultida's nationality is Thai; she is now 77 years old. Kultida first moved to the United States from Thailand in 1968 during the Vietnam War.

Even though Kultida has spent the majority of her life in the States, she has never forgotten her roots and culture. Kultida is not completely Thai.

Kultida comes from a mixed background with Chinese, Dutch, and Thai ancestry. However, she brought up her son, golf legend Tiger Woods with Asian values and culture. 

Meeting Between Kultida and Earl

Kultida and Earls Wood met in Bangkok, Thailand in the 1960s during the brutal Vietnam War. Earl Woods at that time was serving in the army, and Kultida was working as a  civilian secretary in the U.S. Army office. Both of them seemed to have bumped into each other and henceforth their relationship bloomed. 

Kultida and Earl Woods tied the knot in 1969 after moving to the US. Kultida never left her country and knew very little English but her love for her husband prevailed and together with Earl they returned to Brooklyn, New York.

After moving to the States, the couple settled down in Cypress, California. They welcomed the future golfing legend, Tiger Woods in 1975. There the couple spent 37 years together, but sadly on May 3rd, 2006, Earl Woods passed away from a heart attack while he was undergoing cancer treatment. 

Tiger Woods Scared of Her Mother, Kultida Woods

The professional American golfer, Tiger Woods is apparently "deadly scared" of his mother, Kultida Woods. The golfer admits that he is afraid of his mother and he explains it to USA Today. He says that even though his father, Earl Woods has a military background, Tiger is not scared of him as much as he's scared of his mother.

However, Kultida has consistently supported Tiger throughout his career even though Kultida is tough on him. In 2022, she attended Tiger's special event—the World Golf Hall of Fame—with her grandchildren, Charlie and Sam Woods. She shows that family is more important than golf by being there with them. 

Tiger Wood's Affairs and Kultida's Brute Reaction.

In 2009, Tiger Woods admitted that he was having affairs with other women despite having his wife, Elin Nordegren. In an official statement posted on his website, Woods expressed regret for his actions and publicly admitted that he had messed up after multiple women publicly confessed to having affairs with Tiger.

This scandal heavily impacted Kultida, Tiger Woods' mother. Tiger regretted hurting the people he cherished, Kultida his mother, Elin his wife, and Charlie and Sam Woods his children. 

In an interview done by ESPN, Tiger says his mother Kultida, and Elin his wife were 'Brute' after learning of his affairs with multiple women. Following that, Tiger and Elin divorced each other in 2010.

Kultida Woods: Philanthropy and Buddhism

Kultida actively participates in and supports various charitable organizations. She founded the Tiger Woods Foundation alongside his son in 1996. The foundation focuses on the promotion of education, particularly for marginalized youth. It offers educational programs, mentorship opportunities, and scholarships to enable youth to realize their full potential.

In terms of Buddhism, Kultida is from South Asia which is primarily a Buddhist-majority region. While Tiger was at his lowest amidst all the scandal and affair allegations, Kultida urged her son to re-establish his connection with the Buddhist faith that she had emphasized during Tiger's childhood.

Kultida follows this religion and even influenced his son, Tiger Woods to follow Buddhist beliefs while he was growing up.
