Larry Dee Wilcox was born on August 8, 1947, in San Diego, California. After his parents got divorced, he was raised on his granddad's ranch in Rawlins, Wyoming. This upbringing instilled a very strong work ethic in him because he did various jobs; he got used to the outdoors from an early age.

Wilcox graduated from high school at Rawlins High School, and he joined the University of Wyoming; later, he shifted again to California State University, Northridge. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1967 after entering the draft and served in the Tet Offensive. He was honorably discharged when he attained the rank of sergeant in 1970.

Acting Career

Wilcox began his acting career in the early 1970s by appearing in commercials and guest roles. In 1977, he finally rose to fame when he was cast to play Officer Jon Baker in CHiPs. He starred in the series, doing many of his stunts and, at the peak, commanding a salary of $25,000 per episode.

Alongside CHiPs, Wilcox had guest roles in such series as Lassie, The Love Boat, and Murder, She Wrote. He produced and directed the critically acclaimed series The Ray Bradbury Theater for HBO, which also marked his ability to work well beyond the scope of acting in the entertainment industry.

Wilcox has been married three times. The first and second wives were Judy Vagner, and the next wife was Hannie Strasser, both in 1980. The marriage was only later terminated in divorce.

In the year 1985, he got married to the former Olympic training member of the track, by the name of Marlene Harmon. The couple has two children and Phil Farhad Wilcox has three other children from the other marriages. He is a family man; he even shares most of the family moments on his social media.
