Smith, the news anchor, and Meghan Triplett co-host CNBC's evening broadcast. It was Smith's first time hosting the Olympics. Triplett, who works as a host for the Memphis Grizzlies, is also making her Olympic debut.

They will not be alone as new hosts, as Kathryn Tappen will act as USA Network's studio presenter. Tappen has previously worked on NBC's Olympic coverage, but not as a network host. Ahmed Fareed and Liam McHugh, two veteran Olympic hosts, will also head USA Network. Tappen will be the only member of the group to visit Tokyo.

Damon Hack, who rose through the ranks as a sports journalist, will co-host NBCSN alongside Cara Banks. Hack and Banks both work for Golf Channel regularly.
