Meredith Lynn Auld

Meredith Lynn Auld is an American author and former Miss South Dakota 1959. She is widely recognized for her marriage with Tom Brokaw, a well-known journalist. 

Meredith was born in the United States of America, where another author Karin Fulford was born. Auld is of White ethnicity and holds American nationality. From 1958 to 1959, Auld studied at Cottey College based in Nevada.

Meredith Lynn Auld's husband

The American author is a married woman. Auld exchanged her wedding vows with Tom Brokaw on 17th August 1962. Auld's spouse is widely recognized as the managing director and anchor of the NBC Nightly News. 

The pair first met at Yankton High School in South Dakota when Lynn was showing her collection. After a few interactions, they eventually fell in love and together since then. In August 2013, her husband was diagnosed with myelomas.

Mother of Three Children

Meredith and her husband are proud parents to three daughters, Jennifer Brokaw, Andrea Brooks Simon, and Sarah Auld Brokaw. All of her children are already well established in their respective careers.

Meredith's eldest daughter, Jennifer, previously served as an emergency room physician in San Francisco. She also helped her father during his treatment for cancer. 

When The Today Show interviewed Tom, he said, 

''If you have cancer, in a way your whole family gets cancer because they're involved in it,'' 

Brokaw added, 

''Jennifer was invaluable to me because she knew what questions to ask, what research to look for, how to get on the phone with me.''

On the other hand, Meredith's other daughter Sarah is a therapist based in Los Angeles. She is also known as the best selling author of her book Fortytude: Making the Next Decades the Best Years of Your Life-through 40's, 50's and Beyond. Meredith and Tom are grandparents to Sarah's children. 

Meredith's successful career

The famous author kicked off her professional career as the vice-chairman of Conservation International, where she served for sixteen years. 

Later, Auld worked at Gannett Company as the director for eighteen years. Lynn's first penny book was titled The Penny Whistle Any Day Is a Holiday.

Lynn additionally co-wrote a cookbook titled Big Sky Cooking. Her spouse Tom also wrote a book titled A Lucky Life Interrupted. The book is about Tom's life experience with cancer.
