Nicki Minaj, the unanimous queen of rap, is and will forever be iconic. Nicki stormed into the hip-hop genre more than a decade ago and has since been a staple in the male-dominated field. Nicki and Petty have been married since 2019, but their relationship goes way back. The Grammy-nominated rapper and Petty attended the same high school as kids. The two reportedly lost contact for years before reconnecting in 2018. Minaj flamboyantly went Instagram-official with Petty in late 2018, which was a big shocker, given Petty's criminal past. 

"Did you ever make it out of that town where nothing ever happens? It's no secret, that both of us are running out of time," the Super Bass hitmaker wrote as she shared a carousel of snaps that confirmed her budding romance with Petty.

Nicki and Kenneth have been low-key about their relationship ever since, but the recurring bash often leaves the rapper with no choice but to defend her personal life. "When a person is with a n— that loved them before they had a dime in their pocket? How do you not understand that?" Nicki famously explained.  

Despite the frequent shade on her relationship and her "low standards", Minaj continues to fight tooth and nail for her husband. "How f—ing dare you talk about lowering standards? It's the truth, money cannot buy me happiness and good sex," the Chun-Li crooner said as she clapped back to her haters.   

Nicki's whirlwind romance with Kenneth took the ultimate step when the two quietly exchanged vows in 2019. The Super Bass rapper would have kept her marriage a secret if it wasn't for her slip of the tongue in early 2019 when Minaj referred to Petty as her husband. The Trinidad-born rapper later confirmed married status and changed her Twitter name to Mrs. Petty.  

Although some still have a hard time comprehending Nicki's relationship with a no-namer, and ex-con like Petty, several insiders have chimed in on the duo's excellent bond. "He understands her as a person," said a friend of Minaj, adding, "It's a different type of connection. He's not famous, he doesn't want to be on Instagram. He is really focused on her."   

Nicki and Petty welcomed a son in September 2020. Coming to Nicki's infamous husband, Petty, who also goes by the moniker, Zoo has appeared in two of Nicki's sultry music videos, including MEGATRON. Kenneth was convicted of attempted rape in 1995, for which he was behind bars for four years.  

Zoo's brush with the laws doesn't end here. Nicki's husband has also served seven years in prison for second-degree murder. In March 2020, Petty landed himself and Minaj in hot waters again when he failed to register as a sex offender after relocating to California. In her latest interview with Vogue, Nicki says that her marriage with Kenneth has been "testy" since her son's birth.

Their relationship took an unexpected turn when Minaj landed her breakthrough and reached sky-rocketing feats. The pair separated amid reports of feuds and jealousy in 2014. Their end wasn't amicable as the exes went on to have public feuds over music credits, stealing accusations, and more. 

The Chun-Li rapper briefly dated rapper Meek Mill in 2015. While it all started with flirtatious teasing on Mill's part, rumored romance, and eventually, gushy comments from Minaj, the duo faced a bitter ending. "Thank God I dodged the bullet. I'm so over u. Baby good looking out," the Anaconda rapper wrote as she confirmed her split from Mill.   

Minaj's short and low-profile dating history also includes rapper Nas, with whom she was linked in 2017. The queen of rap didn't hesitate to go official with Nas. During her appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Minaj admitted to her budding romance with Nas- only to confirm her split after seven months.
