Who is Noel Edmonds?

BBC is one of the prominent channel networks with various range of channel airing different shows and events. Today we are talking about a multi-talented presenter and executive Noel Edmonds, who has been one of the most recognized faces in the world of television.

Noel Edmonds is an executive producer and English television presenter. He is also known as a disc jockey on BBC Radio 1 in the UK. Moreover, Edmonds has presented light entertainment television programs for many.

Being one of the known figures in BBC, Noel served at Top of the Pops, Telly Addicts, Late Breakfast Show, and The Late. Additionally, From 2005-2016, Ernest served as a presenter for the Channel 4's game show Deal or No Deal. 

Noel Ernest Edmonds was born on 22nd December 1948 in Ilford, Essex, England. Born to his English parents, Lydia Edmonds and Dudley Edmonds, Noel is of White ethnicity and holds British nationality. His father is a former headmaster who served in Hainault, London. 

Talking about his education, Noel joined Glade Primary School and Brentwood School. Later, he was invited to join the University of Surrey which turned down as a newsreader job on Radio Luxembourg.

Additionally, in 1969, Noel shifted to BBC Radio 1 where he started recording trailers for broadcasts. The following year, Ernest started his own two-hour Saturday afternoon program, airing from 1 pm–3 pm, before.

Moreover, Noel is also known for his television works. He hosted the program Top of the Pops at various points from 1970 to 1978. During the time, he also presented a show called Z Shed on BBC1. He appeared as a host at the children's Saturday morning program titled Multi-Coloured Swap Shop from 1976 to 1982.

In 1980, Ernest participated in the Eurovision Song Contest, introducing the UK entry live on stage at the final in the Hague. Additionally, Noel was one of the original presenters of the BBC's motoring series titled Top Gear during late 1970. the program was highly criticized by Fiat Strada citing it ''wasn't very good''.

Noel Ernest Edmonds' first wife

Edmonds first married Gillian Slater (ex-spouse) in 1971. There is no information about when the couple met for the first time and began dating. Not much is known about their marriage. 

Moreover, the couple does not share any child together. After staying for eleven years, Edmonds and his spouse decided to split. the divorce was finalized in 1982. Additionally, none of them mentioned the reason behind their separation. 

Noel Edmonds' second wife

After separating from his first spouse, Noel stayed single for few years until he began dating his second partner Helen Soby. Ernest and Helen exchanged their wedding vows in 1986. 

Noel also has four children with his ex-spouse, Helen, all of them are daughters, Charlotte Edmonds, Olivia Edmonds, Lorna Edmonds, and Alice Edmonds. There is no further information about his children.

Just like his previous marriage, Noel and Soby could not last long and decided to separate. The couple divorced in 2005 after Helen cheated on Noel, which was disclosed in 2005.

Noel Ernest Edmonds' third wife

Noel Ernest tied the knot with his present wife Liza Davies after four years of his divorce from second relationship, in July. Talking about his spouse, Liz is a makeup artist, currently serving on the program Deal or no Deal. 

Noel and Liz first met during the shoot for Deal or no Deal.  Since their marriage, Ernest and his partner are living happily and there are no rumors or controversies which leads to their separation or divorce.

In 2015, the Bachelor of Fleet Street, and presenter Andrew Neil secretly married Susan Nilsson. The wedding took place in France, where Noel and his wife Liz Davies also attended the nuptial ceremony.

Suicide attempt

Besides his personal life, Noel has also experienced near death. In 2005, Noel attempted to suicide after he was a fraud by a group of HBOS financiers. The financiers ruined his Unique Group business. He also cited, 

"Until these criminals took me to the brink of emotional annihilation, I had always felt those who opt out by taking their own lives were selfish and cowardly... But having been cast into that bottomless dark space devoid of logic and reason, I have a much deeper understanding of life without hope... I seek no sympathy and feel no shame in admitting that on the evening of January 18th 2005 I attempted to end the overwhelming mental pain which had consumed my whole being."

Additionally, in 2017, Noel stated that there was a direct connection between fraudulent HBOS financiers which caused him much stress resulting into prostate cancer. 

"I don't say cancer was caused by the stress, but that my health deteriorated to such an extent I got prostate cancer. I am absolutely sure the negative forces acting on me impacted on my health. There is a wealth of information from various clinical studies of a direct link between stress and cancer. I am absolutely certain there was a link in my case,"

Noel earns a decent amount of money from his career as a television presenter and executive producer. Till date, he has appeared in various shows and programs which adds up to his total assets. 

Moreover, Noel was offered $3.6 million for renewing his contract at Deal or No Deal as a presenter. Furthermore, in 2018, Noel appeared in the show I'm a Celebrity 2018 camp. He became the highest-paid contestant on the show earning $736,711. 

Additionally, Edmonds also founded a car production company The Classic Riviera, which produced a range of vintage cars. Some of his cars were based on the SS1000 Jaguar. Considering all his expenses and earnings, Noel's total net worth is estimated to be $92,088,900, as of 2019, which is more than another BBC journalist Carol Kirkwood with total assets of $4.5 million.
