Fans will get a rare insight into the mind of legendary Paul McCartney in his newly-released podcast, McCartney: A Life in Lyrics, a 12-part series in which McCartney will unveil the story behind his biggest hitmakers. The podcast also serves as part biography and part confession of the otherwise reserved singer.

Born on June 18, 1942, in Liverpool, England, McCartney CH MBE rose to worldwide fame as the singer-songwriter of the iconic English band, The Beatles, in the 60s. Paul's charming enigma and his unparalleled talent have since hardly left the hearts of fans. McCartney's illustrious trajectory isn't just defined by his decade-long stint in The Beatles.

The ever-loved musician's career reached new heights following the split of the band in 1970. Be it the subsequent establishment of Paul McCartney and Wings, or his later venture into orchestral music, McCartney continued to serenade his admirers in every phase of his life. Paul's ardent fans will recount the formidable impact his personal life, often marked with turbulence, had on his music. Learn more ahead.

Inside Paul McCartney's First Marriage!

The Ebony and Ivory hitmaker had had a few well-known relationships before he ventured into marriage. McCartney notably dated Dorothy "Dot" Rhone, and Jane Asher, both of whom inspired some of Paul's earliest hits, at the onset of his career. McCartney married Linda Eastman, a late photographer, musician, and animal rights activist, in March 1969.

Paul met Eastman, who was then a hardcore rock fan, at a Georgie Fame concert at The Bag O'Nails nightclub in Soho, London, in 1967. Linda, who was then an aspiring photographer, was initially infatuated with another Beatles star, John Lennon before McCartney eventually won her over.

After a year of dating bliss and completely embracing Linda's past life, which included her daughter, Heather Louise McCartney, 60, an established potter, from her first marriage with Joseph Melville See Jr, the Eleanor Rigny crooner, and Eastman got engaged. Seeing how the two nearly called off their wedding a day before the ceremony, it was a rocky relationship from the start.

"We had a big argument the night before we got married, and it was nearly called off," The Beatles singer said in an interview. The troubled, yet loved-up pair tied the knot on March 12, 1969, in an intimate ceremony. Many may have wished the then-newly weds heaps of wishes on their new journey, but most lambasted the duo's union, with many calling Linda one of the catalysts behind the band's split.

Throughout the ups and downs, and constant bashing, The Beatles alum and Eastman stood tight by each other. Paul's close acquaintances credited Eastman for helping McCartney after he fell into depression following the band's split. The couple put up a united front by following an altruistic lifestyle (Paul became vegetarian because of Linda) and their stumbling career.

They welcomed welcomed three kids during their 29-year-long marriage. Their firstborn, Mary Anna McCartney, 54, is a photographer. She has worked with esteemed publications like GQ, and Vogue, and most famously, photographed Queen Elizabeth's record-breaking reign. Mary has been married twice and is a mother to four sons.

McCartney and Eastman's second kid, Stella Nina McCartney, 52, is a fashion designer. Stella's extensive fashion career saw her work for renowned brands before she decided to launch her eponymous luxury line. The entrepreneur is married and is a mother to four kids. Paul and Linda's youngest-born, James Louis McCartney, 46, is a famed musician.

James' notable hits include Flaming Pie, Driving Rain, and some collaborations with his iconic father. McCartney's first marriage was as successful as it could get as it ended after Linda's death from breast cancer in 1998. "The kids and I were there when she crossed over," Paul said after his partner of nearly three decades died at 56.

The Truth About Paul McCartney's Second Marriage!

McCartney's second attempt at love came a few years after Eastman's death. He married Heather Mills, a former model, and businesswoman, in a star-studded ceremony in 2002. The media weren't a fan of McCartney's second marriage either and The Beatles star often dished on the constant animosity against his partners.

Paul was briefly married to former model Heather Mills, with whom he shares his youngest kid!

McCartney and his second wife were separated by the age gap of 25 years but that was hardly the issue. Instead of starting off fresh with Millis, the Good Day Sunshine singer had opted to kick off his new life in the same house he shared with Linda, which was just one of the many signs that the singer hadn't quite moved on from the loss.

"[Linda] was an inescapable presence because obviously, she was a big part of Paul's life," Heather's biographer, Pamela Cockerill, said on her behalf. She added, "There were little plaques saying 'I love Linda' over the doorways and photos of her around." Paul and Heather welcomed a daughter, Beatrice Milly, in 2003, before announcing their split in April 2006.

Inside Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell's Ongoing Conjugal Life!

The third time has indeed been the charm for Sir Paul, who is currently married to his third wife, Nancy Shevell, a businesswoman, and cancer survivor. The pair started dating in 2007 and after over three years of being in a blissful relationship, the couple tied the knot on October 9, 2011, at Old Marylebone Town Hall.

Their nuptial was more of a family affair, with Paul's kids, and Nancy's famous relatives, including Ringo Starr, and Barbara Bach, taking part in the duo's new start. Unlike his two marriages, the Beatles fame has kept his life with Shevell largely out of the spotlight. But every now and then, the McCartney couple likes to prove that they are each other's happily ever after.

"I try to be helpful as a husband too. If there's a problem, I like to be the guy that will lend some strength to it," the dutiful husband said while gushing about his thriving marriage with Nancy. McCartney further added, "I'm always very happy to be the person Nancy relies on, and to be her strength when she goes through tough times."
