Born on March 10, 1983, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Carrie rose to fame with the fan-favorite reality show competition, American Idol. She won the fourth season of the show in 2005 and kicked off her professional career with the banger, Inside Your Heaven. The country crooner has received the same luck and success in her personal life.

You know what they say that love hits you when you least expect it. Something similar happened with Underwood, who was introduced to Mike Fisher, a Canadian and former ice hockey player, in late 2008. The pair's cupid was none other than Carrie's bassist, Mark Childers.

The country crooner recalls being swept off her feet by Mike's good looks, and the sportsman felt the same. But geographical differences got in the way and the smitten pair were physically estranged until their next date- which would be after months.  

Carrie and Fisher had their next official date on 2008's new year's Eve, and it was a sealed deal from there on. The Grammy winner and her beau enjoyed a year of dating bliss and got engaged in December 2009. The newly engaged shared several loved-up moments before tying the knot in July 2010.

The Inside Your Heaven hitmaker's nuptial, on 10 July 2010, at Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation resort in Greensboro, Ga, was an intimate, yet extravagant affair. Despite their marital status, the pair were bounded to their respective careers, and couldn't share a home together for a year.  

Carrie and Fisher were finally able to move in together after the NHL alum was traded to Nashville Predators from Ottawa Senators, in 2011. Fisher candidly gushed saying that god had answered his prayers. The singer and her husband have since only grown stronger as a couple.  

Doting parents to two now, Underwood and Fisher are deemed one of the most beloved couples on the internet. The pair never miss a chance to express their appreciation for one another. Just recently, the Grammy winner credited her husband for balancing her life.

The long-married couple recently joined forces, asking fans to donate and help them to save "children in crisis." "We are facing global hunger and need your help to save children in crisis," the duo's plea read on Compassion International's page.  

This isn't the first time Carrie and Fisher have lent their help toward philanthropy. The pair have established a few foundations and held several campaigns for causes such as animal welfare, arts education, anti-bullying, and LGBTQ rights.  

Get to Know Carrie Underwood's Husband, Mike Fisher! 

Underwood is definitely the better-known star of the two but here are some things you didn't know about her husband. Mike Fisher, 42, is a native of
Peterborough, Ontario, Canadia, but now resides in Nashville, with his superstar wife, and their two kids.    

Underwood's husband, Fisher, is a former NHL player, and now a businessman! 

When Carrie met her husband in 2008, he was a fast-rising star player in the Ottawa Senators of the NHL. But Mike has since retired from his sports career, and ventured into other domains. Drafted by the Senators in the second round in 1998, Fisher played for the team till 2011.  

Mike spent his remaining career stints with the Predators, from 2011 to 2018. During his eighteen seasons in the NHL, Mike had 278 goals, and 311 assists, in a total of 1104 games. The Ontario-born announced his retirement in May 2018.  

The retired ice hockey player, an avid hunter, launched his apparel brand, Catchin’ Deer, with his brother Bud, in 2018. Based in Canada and Nashville, the business produces hunting-themed merchandise. The lifestyle business reportedly generated millions in its first year and landed a lucrative partnership with Tractor Supply in 2019.

With a bustling career to tend to and two young kids at home, Underwood and her husband have their hands full. The American Idol alum often articulates the difficulty in managing her career and home life. The singer says that a lot of advanced planning is done to keep her life balanced.

Underwood and Fisher welcomed their firstborn, Isaiah Fisher, in February 2015. Given his parents' jam-packed schedules and busy career, Isaiah started touring with his mom as a toddler. Underwood once revealed that her son was lovingly referred to as The Mayor of Catering by her crew members. 

Underwood's oldest has inherited the best of his parents. Isaiah was five when he made his singing debut on his mother's Christmas album, My Gift. He has also made his baseball game debut, a milestone, Carrie proudly commemorated on her Instagram.

The multiple Grammy winner and Fisher planned to have more kids after the birth of Isaiah, and Underwood was, in fact, able to conceive quickly. But the couple underwent a few heartbreaks before they could extend their family.  

The Denim & Rhinestones hitmaker revealed that she had three miscarriages before giving birth to her second son. The duo welcomed their miracle baby, Jacob, in January 2019. "Jacob, we longed for you. We prayed for you. We walked a long, hard road in order to one day hold you," Carrie wrote on her son's birthday.
