Inside Shannen Doherty's messy romantic history: The actress is newly divorced!  

Actress Shannen Doherty is known for many things; be it her extensive television credits, her quintessential Hollywood bad-girl reputation, her messy love life, and more recently, the actress's relentless battle with breast cancer. Doherty's most memorable onscreen credits are Little House on the Prairie,   Girls Just Want to Have Fun, and Beverly Hills, 90210.  

Born on April 12, 1971, in Memphis, Tennessee, Doherty did a few unnoticed roles at the beginning of her career until her gradual rise to fame with Charmed, Christmas Caper, and more. In her decades-long career in Hollywood, the television diva has suffered three rough marriages.  

Shannen Doherty's Messy Love Life!  

Shannen Doherty has had pretty tough luck in her personal life. The actress's acclaimed role as Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210, not only made her the ultimate Hollywood bad girl but also made her love life a tabloid-favorite staple.   

During her four-year-long stint on the teen drama, Shannen got engaged to three different people. She was engaged to real estate manager Chris Foufas, in 1991 before moving to accept a proposal from Dean Factor, in 1993. Doherty and Factor's relationship ended horribly with the latter filing a restraining order against the actress.  

Factor, who is the heir of the cosmetic company, Max Factor, accused Doherty of threatening him with a gun. The Charmed actress and her dad vehemently denied the vile accusations and revealed herself to be the real victim of domestic abuse. Shannen was married to actor Ashley Hamilton, from October 1993 to April 1994.    

Not much is known about Shannen's brief nuptials with Hamilton, but as per her Beverly Hills, 90210's co-star, Tori Spelling, the duo didn't make the best couple. Doherty's streak of romances also includes producer Rob Weiss, who she started dating in 1995. The pair were engaged before their split in 1998.   

Coming up is another brief, albeit notorious romantic stint of Shannen's dating career. The actress married her second husband, poker player Rick Saloman, in 2002, and called it quits with him after nine months following his leaked sex tape scandal with Paris Hilton. Doherty called the incident "humiliating and disgusting."  

Shannen Doherty's Latest Failed Marriage!  

The actress recently filed for divorce from her third husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, who she married in October 2011. Fans couldn't fathom how the couple, who unitedly fought Shannen's cancer battle for years and come off as a strong team, could come to an end; that was until the real reason was unveiled.  

The Our House alum alluded to Kurt's affair with his agent by citing that Iswarienko's agent had been "intimately involved" in their divorce. A rep for the actress also revealed that "divorce was the last thing" Shannen wanted. The duo reportedly broke up earlier this year in January.  

The actress's cryptic post, uploaded moments after the news of her divorce filing, sent the internet into a frenzy. The post read, "The only people who deserve to be in your life are the ones who treat you with love, kindness, and total respect." 

The actor and photographer couple was first linked in 2008. After years of hush-hush romance, Shannen and Kurt tied the knot on October 15, 2011, in an intimate ceremony. The couple navigated a stormy and rewarding journey from there on.   

Shannen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and her then-husband, Kurt, stood tall by her side. The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum would often credit Kurt for being her rock throughout the turmoil-filled journey. "My happy place got a lot happier with the arrival of my best friend. I couldn't love this man more," Shannen wrote in one of the many tributes to her Kurt.  

The estranged duo's divorce saga continues and many are of the idea that Shannen's prolonged disease strained their marriage. Although the reason behind their split is still ambiguous, Shannen's rep has made it clear that it was Kurt's fault. Fans have since bashed the photographer for cheating on an ailing wife.

Amid the brewing talks around her personal life and divorce from Kurt, Doherty has shared another sad development. The actress recently revealed that her cancer has spread to her brain since her divorce announcement. Posting an emotional video, Doherty said that she is filled with fear for her life. 

Why Did Shannen Doherty Never Have Any Children?  

Doherty isn't the first Hollywood actress to not venture into motherhood but she is certainly one of the few who didn't have a say in the matter. The Little House on the Prairie actress has been open about her battle with stage IV breast cancer, and also her inability to conceive a child.   

Doherty desired kids with her then-husband, Kurt, but had to accept the reality. During a candid conversation about her long cancer fight, the Charmed actress revealed that she can't conceive a child traditionally. The actress shared that she can't get out of menopause because of her treatment.  

"It's not possible for me to get pregnant because I can't get out of menopause," said the actress before explaining, "That would require estrogen, and I'm choosing not to take hormone pills — I can't risk those levels coming up."
