Who is Steve Backshall?

Steve is a 46 yeas old BAFTA-winning English naturalist, writer, and television presenter, mostly known for BBC TV's Deadly 60. He was born on 21 April 1973 in Bagshot, Surrey, England. He attended Collingwood College in Camberley and also attended Salesian College, Farnborough. 

He also learns martial arts for a year in Japan for a year with gaining a black belt in judo and a brown belt in Karate. Backshall is an explorer, writer, television presenter, naturalist, and public speaker.

Popularly known for BBC TV's Deadly 60 which include Lost Land of the Tiger, Lost Land of the Jaguar and Lost Land of the Volcano. He also has worked on Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel.

Everyone loves Backshall. He has been risking his whole life to entertain and providing awareness to the people. In one of the show, he was almost eaten by an alligator. 

He has been nominated for various awards during his time. Backshall has won the BAFTA Awards, 2011 Children's Television Presenter and 2011 Factual series Deadly 60. However, he has published three novels for children and several non-fiction works.

Backshall has been his whole life in the wild. The 46 years old naturalist dated almost a year to Olympic gold medalist, Helen Glover, who is 35 years old. 

The couple got married in September 2016 exactly after a year of engagement. On their wedding, Steve's co-stars Judy Murray, Sunetra Sarker, Thom Evans, and Jake Wood were there to congratulate the newly couple.

After two years of marriage, the couple announced that they were expecting twin babies. While Helen was pregnant, Steve had to left her for a year for his TV show Expedition for the BBC.

But later, Helen revealed in her Twitter account that she lost her one of the twin's babies in April 2018. Which broke their heart and their fans too. On 24 July 2018, the couple welcomed their first baby, Logan James David Backshall, Helen posted an image of baby's tiny foot on her Instagram account.

Steve was born in Bagshot and raised with Dave Backshall (father) and Patricia Backshall (mother). His parents used to work in British Airway. Steve grew up with his 11 siblings, which include four brothers and Seven Sister.
