The TV personality has gotten into trouble more times than once as a media man. He first got into trouble when he was fired from the BET network. He rallied against them and led a protest with his supporters against the network but was unable to regain his position back at the station.

Then, in 2008 he shared some controversial views about then-Democratic President Barack Obama which landed him in further trouble. 

After this, the most serious controversy he has ever been in began. The star host was accused of sexual misconduct. PBS suspended him on December 13, 2017, and started an investigation which found evidence of his relationship with multiple subordinates.

He tried to sue the network for wrongful termination but they were successful in countersuing him. The case was ruled against him and he was ordered to pay PBS $2.6 million. 

Since then, he has been mostly out of the mainstream media spotlight but remains a fixture in some small media networks and stations. His work as a TV personality
