Tommy DeBarge - A Great Loss to DeBarge Family

Tommy DeBarge (Thomas Keith Bebarge), Founding member of the '70s R&B group Switch singer and bass guitarist died on Thursday, October 21, 2021. 

He died at the hospital, the news was confirmed by Tommy's family members on social media.

The American vocalist and bass guitarist Bebarage was born on September 6, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan US.

Tommy is the esteemed DeBarge family member and founding member of the R&B band, Switch. He is a famous Vocalist and bass guitarist. 

He is also the co-founder of the R&B band Switch, which includes his brother Bobby DeBarge who died in 1995 due to complications from AIDS.

The hit records by Switch band after which his name was famed  "There'll Never Be", Over And Over Again, and many more.

Being a younger brother of Tommy DeBarge he posted an emotional statement on his Instagram.

And so it is that on October 21, 2021, I had to say farewell to one of the greatest bass guitarists this world has ever known, and I am grieved as I confirm to you that my brother, Thomas Keith DeBarge, passed away.

My dear brother Tommy finally made his transition after a lengthy illness. Tommy was a loving, gentle soul and a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and one of the best brothers anyone could ever ask for. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who love him so much and in the beautiful music he created with our brother Bobby, as well as that of his musical peers in the famous R&B group Switch! Both my brothers Bobby and Tommy DeBarge are together now safely in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ, though our hearts are still heavy as it will require some time to deal with the fact that he is gone and just missing him so much.

I want to say on behalf of the whole DeBarge family we really appreciate all your prayers especially for our mother, Etterlene DeBarge, whose faith in God's heavenly promises is unwavering 

Relationship And Family 

The famous American vocalist caught the eyes of many beautiful girls. He married several women. 

Tommy DeBarge's first wife was Yolanda, who was known by the name of Duckie. He married Dukie and soon after got in a relationship with Tracey.

Later on, he married Tracey. However, he was not satisfied with his two wives, he fathered many children with his wives. His last wife was Monique, with whom he spent his entire life till death.

Cause Of DeBarge's Death

Tommy DeBarge was admitted to the hospital a few weeks before his death. He was suffering from liver and kidney failure for the last few years, his family member confirms his death by liver and kidney failure. 

He also suffered from the covid-19 the previous year before his death, which makes him weaker and unhealthy.

The co-founder and bassist of R&B Band Switch collaborated with his brother Bobby DeBarge in 1970. The musical ground sold numerous albums, from which he gained global success, with million copies sold.

He also dipped his finger in the world of writing. Constantly, he became an author of an autobiography titled: There'll Never Be A Story of Forgiveness.

Furthermore, he had worked with various music labels and public events, he had managed to earn lucrative fees and endorsements. Tommy DeBarge's net worth was $1million USD before his death.
