Ray Liotta died in May last year: The actor is survived by his one kid!
Actor Ray Liotta was an Emmy-winning television actor and had a notable career in mainstream movies. His acclaimed roles in ER, Field of Dreams, Something Wild, Goodfellas, Cop Land, and more had made him an endearing star. The industry was left shocked when Liotta mysteriously passed away in his sleep last year at 67.
A little over a year after the actor's tragic demise, the truth has finally come to light. Liotta was filming for Dangerous Waters in the Dominican Republic at the time of his death. It was recently revealed that Ray's death was caused by heart and respiratory issues. The Emmy winner is survived by his fiance and his one daughter.
Ray Liotta Was Engaged at the Time of His Death!
Liotta's career and his second chance at love were cut short by his untimely death. The actor not only didn't live to see some of his projects delivered to his fans but also left behind a grieving fiance. The Something Wild actor was engaged to Jacy Nittolo at the time of his death.
Liotta's surviving partner reflected on the actor's death and a year without him. "It's been a heavy year of pain, heartache, healing, growing, and accepting what is," Jacy wrote in the lengthy caption alongside snippets of their loved-up moments. The former hairstylist added, "No time will change a loss so great. You just learn to live with it and keep going."
Liotta and Jacy were a pandemic couple, meaning that their love sprouted when the whole world was trying to make sense of the unprecedented situation in 2020. Making his feelings for Jacy clear very early on, Ray even took her as his date at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California, in February 2020.
By the year's end in November, the Golden Globe nominee and his girlfriend were engaged. "I asked the love of my life to marry me, and thank God she said yes," the Goodfellas actor wrote. Giving insight into his fast-paced romance with Jacy, the actor explained that the pandemic actually worked in favor of their relationship.
The engaged couple often demonstrated their love with frequent posts, shoutouts, and romantic getaways. Nittolo had seemingly formed a loving bond with Ray's daughter from his first marriage, making the duo look as ready as they can be to become spouses. Following the actor's death in May, Jacy even got a tattoo in honor of Liotta.
Inside Ray Liotta's First Marriage!
Ray Liotta seemingly didn't invest much energy looking for love. The late actor's romantic history doesn't reveal much romance, in fact, it starts with his first wife, Michelle Grace, and ends with Jacy. Liotta had already cemented a notable career when he married Michelle in 1997.
The Field of Dreams actor once revealed how he cried when he proposed to Grace outside of the jewelry shop. The pair's wedding and their conjugal years were kept under the radar. The late actor's ex-wife, Grace, dabbled in acting and producing. Her credits include The Rat Pack, Narc, and Take the Lead.
Liotta and his then-wife welcomed a daughter, Karsen, before finalizing their divorce in 2004. Neither Ray nor Grace provided much about their nuptial or the reason behind their split. The actor, however, on his part claimed that it just didn't work out and he realized that Grace was not the right person.
Dishing on his notion of the right person, Liotta said he would prefer someone who's "not so career-oriented and more about the relationship. Looking at the Goodfellas actor's old interviews, he and Michelle shared a cordial bond until his final moments.
"She's a great woman, and thank God we're still friends," the actor said of his ex-wife not long after their divorce. In his candid interview with The Guardian, Liotta also touched on dating after his divorce. Ray's only daughter, Karsen, 24, was the apple of his eye. "My whole life is about her. Being a dad," the actor had said.
Karsen's acting career was launched when she was an infant. She appeared in her father's biographical war film, A Rumor of Angels, as a 2-year-old. Her acting credits also include short films, Prettyface and Trump's America, and the series, Black Bird.
Ray Liotta's cause of death is revealed a year after his death!
"I had a relationship after I got divorced and it didn't feel as equal as I would have liked," the actor said before explaining how he tends to become more vulnerable in romantic relationships. "Everybody brings the dynamics of the previous relationships they were in," Ray said.
