Inside actress Danielle Fishel's two marriages: She is a doting mother of two!
Best known for playing Topanga Lawrence in the 90s teenage sitcom, Boys Meets World, Danielle Fishel is an actress and a director. Besides those two primary designations, Fishel is also an occasional host, a reporter on Pop Sugar, a model, and a podcaster. Fishel's Pod Meets World, which she and her former co-star, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle, started in 2022, takes fans on a nostalgic journey.
Born on May 5, 1981, in Mesa, Arizona, Fishel spent the formative years of her career in theatres, and later, on small screen. It all started with minor roles on popular sitcoms like Full House, Harry, and the Henderson before she could land her trademark role in Boys Meets World in 1993. The multi-faceted star is also a working mother and a doting wife.
Who is Danielle Fishel Married to?
Teamwork makes the dream work- if there's any celebrity couple who aptly fit the adage, it's Fishel and her husband, Jensen Karp, with whom she has been married since 2019. You might reckon that theirs is a relatively young marriage so a passionate connection is only given, but Fishel's exuberant statements about her husband and her married life only go to prove that the pair are in it for life.
Danielle's husband, Karp, 43, is a multi-talented star. Famously known by his stage name, Hot Karp, Jensen is a producer, writer, actor, podcaster, and former rapper. Moreover, Karp also owns and operates two galleries in Los Angeles.
Fishel has been long associated with her fan-favorite character, Topanga, and although the television actress does resonate with her alter-ego on many levels, she, thankfully, didn't translate Topanga's disposition regarding relationships in her real life. The Boys Meets World actress has been married and divorced once before and thats it.
Fishel and Karp's relationship hit fans out of nowhere, meaning that there were no warning signs. The couple went Instagram-official and Karp later announced their romance on his podcast, Get Up On This. From there, it was a year of romantic getaways, gushy, and almost enviable posts, and came March 2018- when Fishel and Karp announced their engagement.
"The future Mr. and Mrs. Karp are now engaged and no one is more excited than I am," the former child actress wrote with a certainty not known to modern lovers. The loved-up couple didn't waste their time planning and extending the ceremony, and walked down the aisle after six months, on November 4, 2018.
Fishel and her hubby have since welcomed two kids. Their firstborn, Alder, was born on June 24, 2019, and their second son, Keaton, arrived on Earth on August 29, 2021. Mr. and Mrs Karp have expanded their relationship to professional collaborations, starting from the duo's hosted virtual game called Scorantine, which as the name proposes, was introduced during the pandemic.
Fishel and Karp also joined forces to create a movie for Tubi called, Classmates. While the Boys Meet World actress boarded the project as a director, her hubby was in charge of writing the screenplay. Danielle previously talked about her work-life balance and how her husband makes it a lot easier.
"There's nobody I'd rather spend my time with," the actress-turned-director said, adding, "I have a tendency to be very rigid and structured, and Jensen is much more fun and relaxed. It's a really good balance both in our personal life and in work."
Inside Danielle Fishel's First Marriage!
Before Fishel found her perfect match in Karp, the Boys Meet World actress experienced a brief marriage with Tim Belusko. Danielle was early in her career, acting, and pursuing a degree at the California State University when she met Belusko, who was then a fellow university student.
Despite their significant age, with Belusko being a tad younger than the actress, the two fell head over heels for each other. For Fishel, it was Belusko's tattoo that caught her eyes, and as for Tim, well, he has mostly steered away from making any public statements.
"I'm not a huge tattoo person but I loved it," said the actress. Danielle reportedly tutored Belusko in math before striking up a romance with him. The twosome dated for three years and tied the knot on October 19, 2013, in Los Angeles, in front of over 250 guests, which included many stars, including Fishel's former co-star, Ben Savage.
The 'Boys Meet World' actress and Belusko called it quits after two years of marriage!
Less than two years as spouses, Fishel and Belusko saw their marriage unravel. The couple eventually called it quits and Fishel was the one who made the move. The Girls Meet World alum quietly filed for divorce in 2015 and the uncontested divorce was finalized a year later in 2016.
