While he deals with the controversy his way, he can rest assure that at least his personal life is safe from the constant media scrutiny. There's being low-profile and then there's Levinson, whose approach to protecting his family life has been called excessively private.  

Levinson is married to Ashley Lent Levinson. The timeline of the pair's relationship isn't available on the public domain and that's how much low-profile the two have been. Sam's marriage with Ashley was a latent secret until the filmmaker himself opened up about it subtly in 2019.  

While giving a hot take on Euphoria and the controversy around it, Levinson mentioned he and his wife share a 3-year-old son. "Something could be extremely overwhelming, and I’m sensitive to it even with my own son. He's 3 years old, and I don't like when he’s watching something and there's a really suspenseful score," said The Idol creator.    

Who is Sam Levinson's Wife, Ashley Lent Levinson?  

Levinson took a long hiatus from Hollywood after his directorial debut in 2011. It wasn't until 2017 that the filmmaker popped up with a string of projects. Some have suggested that the Another Happy Day director met his now-wife while working on one of the many projects.   

Sam's wife and the mother of his only son is also an active member of the film fraternity. The Emmy-nominated director's 2018 black horror comedy, Assassination Nation, credits Ashley as the associate producer of the film. The Levinson couple have since collaborated on couple more projects, including Malcolm and Marie. 

As per sources, Ashley started her career journey in the marketing industry and even dabbled in the real estate business before branching her repertoire into films. In 2018, Ashley Lent founded the Little Lamb Productions with her husband, and the late Euphoria producer, Kevin Turen.  

Has Sam Levinson been Married Before?   

Despite being born to an acclaimed director, Levinson has been strangely withdrawn from the Hollywood dating game. So far, we've learned about the Malcolm and Marie director's notorious reticence regarding his life, and although there might not be a definite way to learn about Levinson's past, it is believed that Sam has never been married before.   

The Wizard of Lies director, however, has had one single publicly known relationship before. He is believed to have dated Golden Globe-winning actress, Ellen Barkin, from 2008 to 2011. Barkin even starred in Levinson's directorial debut.  

The pair's romance headline had, in fact, dropped like a bombshell, specifically because of their staggering age gap. Also, Sam's now-ex, Barkin, had already been married and divorced twice when their dating headline hit the news. 

Levinson and Barkin were 31 years apart. The two reportedly crossed paths when Sam was writing Barkin's 2010 action-comedy, Operation: Endgame. During their nearly three-year-long romance, the couple shared a home together in New York, and the otherwise tight-lipped Levinson even gushed a bit about his 31 years senior girlfriend.  

"We've been together for like, three years, under the radar," said Levinson, adding, "When you get to know her, she's not that tough. She's beautiful and intelligent and we live creatively together."
