A Closer Look at Elisabeth Moss's Romantic Life: Meet Her Husband and Partner

Actress Elisabeth Moss easily falls on the scanty list of the most acclaimed stars. The British-American actress has been in the business almost all her life, and yet, has managed to steer clear of the media circus that all A-listers lament about. Moss, who ventured into acting as young kid, has always expressed her commitment toward her acting, probably the key reason for her notorious absence from public eye.  

Born on July 24, 1982, in Los Angeles, California, Moss was six when she landed her first role in the NBC miniseries, Lucky Chances. She was homeschooled for the entirety of her childhood, which fastened Elisabeth's journey to stardom. At 17, she nabbed her breakthrough role in NBC's The West Wing.

Moss's now-ex-husband, Armisen, is a comedian, actor, writer, and producer. He is best known for co-creating and starring in Portlandia, Documentary Now, and Moonbase 8. Elisabeth was Fred's second wife as the Emmy nominee was married to musician Sally Timms, from 1998 to 2004. 

Elisabeth's first meet cute with Armisen happened when her Mad-Men co-star, Jon Hamm, guest-hosted the Saturday Night Live, where Armisen was a regular cast member at the time. It was evidently a whirlwind romance as the two got engaged in January 2008, and got hitched on October 25, 2009.  

The Mad-Men actress and Fred kept their conjugal life low-profile, giving fans the impression of a happily married couple who just wanted to bask in their marital bliss in privacy, but what unfolded in their closed life was a harsh truth. When things came to an end abruptly eight months after their wedding in June 2010, everyone was taken aback.

The then-newly married pair reportedly separated in June 2010, and in September of the year, Moss filed for divorce. Unlike their brief marriage, their divorce was a high-profile affair as it ended on a terrible note, and both Moss and Fred didn't mince their words when the time came to address the fallout.   

"It was extremely traumatic, awful, and horrible," The Handmaid's Tale actress said about her one and only marriage experience. Throwing shade her ex-husband, Moss said, "He's so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person." 

While Armisen did admit to being a "terrible husband" and reflected on her habit of jumping into a serious relationship too fast, a source close to the SNL alum said that Moss's devotion to her Scientology religion was also a driving factor in their untimely split.   

Elisabeth Moss is Expecting Her First Baby!  

Elisabeth couldn't keep it a secret anymore. The Handmaid's Tale actress had fans speculating her pregnancy after being spotted in a bundled attired. The Emmy winner has now confirmed the news on the national television. During her latest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Moss sweetly let it out.   

Are you pregnant or just an incredibly committed method actor," host Jimmy Kimmel asked his guest, to which Elisabeth responded, "A little bit of both." Moss, who turned 41 last year, didn't elaborate her new milestone, but the actress said that she "feels really lucky." "It's been going really well," Moss said.  

The gleeful news comes over a year after the notoriously private actress said that she wanted to have kids. "I definitely want to have kids because I've been very inspired by the kind of mother my mom is. She did a beautiful thing with me," Moss had said in an interview.  

The West Wing actress continued to keep the identity of her soon-to-be born baby's father a secret. Elisabeth hasn't had any official relationships since her divorce from Armisen in 2011. The two-time Golden Globe winner was last linked with Australian cinematographer Adam Arkapaw in 2012.
