Mel B gears up to get married for the third time: The Spice Girl alum is a mother to three kids!  

Mel B's rise to fame and her gradual decline from it can be surmised in a paragraph. A 90s pop icon who catapulted to global stardom and soon descended to middling success amid her tumultuous personal life, grim mental health, and eventually, her marred public image. Much is said and assumed about the former pop titan.  

But only a fraction knows what really happened behind Mel's rambunctious lifestyle through her journey to fame and controversies. Born Melanie Janine Brown on May 29, 1975, in Leeds, West Yorkshire, she was once the most famous member of the 90's girl group, Spice Girls. 

Mel B for a long reigned as the Scary Spice before venturing into her solo career. She is a better-known television face these days, working as a judge on hit competition shows such as The X Factor, The Masked Singer Australia, America's Got Talent, and more.  

Mel B is Set to Walk Down the Aisle for the Third Time!  

Will the third time be the charm for the Spice Girl alum? Well, only time will provide the testament to the question but for now, fans are pretty excited for the singer, who is basking in her pre-wedding bliss. Mel B surprised the world with her engagement news last year in October.   

The America's Got Talent judge revealed that she was engaged to her boyfriend of three years, Rory McPhee. The Tell Me hitmaker made the special announcement on Gogglebox. B later shared that her former Spice Girls members not only approved their engagement but also cried tears of joy upon hearing the news.  

After almost a year into their engagement bliss, the Spice Girls alum is spilling the beans on her anticipated wedding. Appearing on the Ed and Erin breakfast show, the Brit quipped that she's planning to have a two-week-long wedding ceremony. "Once I get the dates, then I’ll go wedding dress shopping," said an excited Mel.   

Mel says she feels safe with Rory after a decade-long abusive marriage! 

To add to fans' excitement, Mel B and Rory previously shared that they will be getting married at the St Paul’s Cathedral, where Princess Dianna and King Charles were wedded. For the Scary Spice Girl, her budding relationship with Rory really seems to be a new and healthy experience.  

Mel recently dished on how her fiance makes her "feel safe", after suffering years of abuse from her ex-husband. The singer-turned-television star's soon-to-be husband, Rory, 35, is a hairdresser. According to B, he was a close family friend before the two found a romantic connection. "I didn't see him like that before and he is way younger than me," the 48-year-old singer explained.

The Truth About Mel B's Traumatic Past!    

Mel B has been under constant public scrutiny all her life. If it's not the singer's high-profile career that's drawing media speculation then it's her tumultuous personal life that sparks eyebrow-raising headlines. The I Want You Back hitmaker had a rocky start in her personal life and the misfortune followed her most of her life.   

The Spice Girls alum had a whirlwind relationship with Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar in early 1998. The hasty romance moved fast with the pair getting engaged and married within months, and Mel giving birth to her firstborn, Phoenix Chi Gulzar, in early 1999. The pair's marriage turned sour after two years and the singer filed for divorce in 2000.  

The X-Factor judge later blamed Jimmy's indifferent attitude in their sex life for the failure of their nuptial. "She loved Jimmy very much but when the physical side of their relationship broke down she became deeply concerned," said a source. The estranged pair's divorce was finalized in 2001, with B winning the custody of their daughter.  

Mel's ex-husband, Gulzar, was thrust back into the spotlight again when the dancer blasted the singer for her second failed marriage. From 2007 to 2017, Melanie was married to film producer Stephen Belafonte.  

So much had happened in B's life before she delved into a long-term nuptial with Belafonte; she had welcomed a kid with actor Eddie Murphy after a brief romance and experienced a five-year-long gay relationship with producer Christine Crokos. The Feels So Good crooner welcomed her third child with Belafonte in September 2011.   

But what looked like an extravagant and viable conjugal life to people hid many dark truths. Mel thrashed her then-husband, Belafonte, with emotional and physical accusations when she filed for divorce in March 2017. In her memoir, Brutally Honest, the singer unpacked her decade-long abuse and trauma.  

The former Spice Girl claimed that her producer husband made life so hard for her that she couldn't get through the day without snorting cocaine. "I wanted to literally physically scrape myself clean of my abusive ex-partner, but it's harder to scrape away the memories and start to repair the emotional damage," the singer said in her disturbing revelation.  

Who are Mel B's Children?  

Like some adversity that comes with a silver lining, Mel B's dreadful past has also endowed her with the gift of a lifetime. While enduring pain and hardships in her previous romances, the X Factor star also experienced an unparalleled love as a mother. The Today singer is a mother to three daughters with three men.   

Mel's oldest, Phoenix, 24, was a result of her short-lived marriage with Gulzar. Called a spitting image of her famous mother, Phoenix is a social media star. Being the oldest of the brood, Phoenix is setting an example for her siblings by actively following in her mom's footsteps. Her credits so far include Born Famous, The Games, and more.  

The second of the all-girls brood, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, 16, was at the center of a tabloid drama when her biological father, Eddie Murphy, denied the paternity. The comic was made to pay $7 million in settlement after a DNA test proved his fears right. As per Mel, Angel is the academic one of her kids.  

Mel's youngest-born, Madison Brown Belafonte, 12, born to the singer, and her alleged abusive ex-husband, Stephen, is the apple of Mel's eye. Madison often pops up on her mother's social media and seemingly shares a loving bond with the Spice Girls fame.
