Bruce Willis has been married twice and is a father to five daughters: Complete story here!
Known for his ever-loved roles in the Die Hard franchise, Moonlighting, Pulp Fiction, The Fifth Element, and The Sixth Sense, Bruce Willis is an Emmy-winning actor. Celebrated widely for his slew of action roles, Willis catapulted into global stardom in the 80s and went on to cement a powerhouse role throughout the 90s and the 20s.
Born Walter Bruce Willis on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein, West Germany, he turned to movies after a brief stint as a private investigator. Bruce's earliest role as David Addison Jr. in the Emmy-nominated series, Moonlighting, was enough to establish him as an up-and-coming star. The beloved actor's career was thwarted after he was diagnosed with aphasia last year.
Bruce Willis's First Marriage Ended Twenty Years Ago!
Bruce is certainly navigating a tough time in his life but at least, the actor is not alone in it. The Die Hard actor has got his second wife, Emma Heming Willis, standing strong by his side, and his ex-wife, Demi Moore, who has been showing Bruce her utmost love since his grim diagnosis last year.
The exes's friendly bond isn't something new. In fact, since their divorce in 2000, the Pulp Fiction actor and Moore have cemented the reputation of Hollywood's most amicable and unproblematic ex-spouses. The pair were a fan-favorite and powerhouse couple during their heydays.
Willis and Moore's life-long relationship began at the screening of Stakeout, in 1987. The two started dating shortly after Moore ended things with her then-fiancé, actor Emilio Estevez. Willis and Demi walked down the aisle after a whirlwind romance in 1987 and welcomed their firstborn, Rumer, in August 1988.
Bruce and Moore went on to welcome two more daughters, Scout, and Tallulah, before eventually calling it quits in 1998. The pair's shocking split, however, didn't stand in between their bond as a family, and parents to three. The estranged couple continued to stand in front of the media as a thriving family.
When Moore married her second husband, Ashton Kutcher, in 2005, the Die Hard actor expressed his happiness for his ex-wife, and even attended her wedding. The long-estranged couple even spent the pandemic together by isolating themselves with their three daughters, a time Willis later fondly reflected on.
The Die Hard actor recently received his clear diagnosis. Bruce's wife, Emma, revealed that the actor's condition is called frontotemporal dementia, also known as FTD. Emma's message was followed by an emotional statement from Moore and their three daughters. "Bruce has always found joy in life – and has helped everyone he knows to do the same," Moore writes in the lengthy statement.
Inside Bruce Willis's Second Marriage!
Bruce's die-hard fans might deem Emma Heming as the lucky one but we think it's the other way around. Whereas many aren't fortunate to have the presence of one good woman in their life. the Moonlighting actor is blessed with two, who adore him with all their hearts.
Bruce is currently married to Emma Heming, a British model and entrepreneur. The pair first crossed paths at Willis's What Just Happened? premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2007. Despite their significant age difference, 23 years to be precise, both Bruce and Heming were immediately taken aback by each other's charm.
Although the Die Hard actor didn't make things official in public, he had already made Emma a member of his family with Moore. The blended family would make many family appearances before Bruce and Emma's nuptials in 2009. The actor and his second bride walked down the aisle on March 21, 2009, in Turks and Caicos.
Emma says Bruce might or might not be aware of his dementia condition!
Bruce's blended family grew bigger by one more member when Emma gave birth to their first kid, Mabel Ray Willis, in April 2012. In May 2014, the couple welcomed their youngest, daughter, Evelyn Penn Willis, making Bruce a father to an all-girl brood of five.
Heming shared the heartbreaking news of Willis's diagnosis ahead of their 13th anniversary, in March 2022. In an emotional Instagram post, the British model explained how her movie star husband will be stepping away from his profession as a result of his worsening condition.
"As Bruce always says, 'Live it up' and together we plan to do just that. Love, Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, & Evelyn," Emma wrote in the post. Emma is seemingly doing her bit to educate people on her husband's condition. During her recent appearance on the Today Show, the Brit gave an update on Bruce's health and insights into her affected family.
Heming shared that her husband might or might not be aware of his condition. "It's hard to know," she said, adding, "What I'm learning is that dementia is hard. It's also hard on the family. And that is no different for Bruce, or myself, or our girls. When they say that this is a family disease, it really is."
