Bio of Andrea Roane

Roane was born 5th October 1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Being born to American parents, Andrea belongs to African-American ethnicity and has an American nationality. She joined the Holy Ghost Elementary School for her education and later attended the Preparatory School of Xavier University.

In the year 1971, Roane gained her B.A. in Secondary Education from the Lousiana State University (currently known as the University of New Orleans).

Roane began her career in 1971 as an English teacher for high school. After graduation, Andrea started her journalism career as an education reporter for WYES. Moreover, she also became project director of a federally funded education show. 

In 1976, the talented journalist began serving for CBS affiliate WWL-TV. However, after two years of working, Roane again returned back to WYES-TV, and later she shifted to Washington, DC. Along with Roane, Elise Jordan and Catherine Rampell are also a very prominent journalist of today's ears.  

In the year 1979, Andrea served as chief correspondent and host for the Metro Week in Review at public television station named WETA. Since then, she has gained huge popularity and eventually served for CBS-affiliate WUSA as Sunday evening and weekly morning anchor.

In addition, she also appeared as an anchor for, morning, afternoon, and late-night news programs. After some time, she also featured in the Washington Post. On 25th April 2018, Andrea announced that she would retire from her journalism career as of 31st July 2018.
