Early Life and Education
Becky Mantin was born in 1980 in Norfolk County, England. From an early age, she had a keen interest in the weather and the natural world; much of her time during childhood was spent outdoors, learning about the changing skies and different elements.
After completing her secondary education, she was admitted to the university for the study of journalism, which would set the base for her future media career.
Career Beginnings at the Eastern Daily Press
After graduation, Becky started as a features assistant at the regional newspaper Eastern Daily Press in her hometown, Norwich.
That gave her the chance to polish her writing and research skills and gain diversified experience in the media field.
Transition to Television at ITV Anglia
Born in the early 2000s, Becky transitioned to TV and began working at ITV Anglia as a weather presenter for the regional franchise.
Her natural on-camera sense and passion for meteorology instantly caught the interest of ITV's national team in London.
Move to ITV National and Roving Reporter Role
In the mid-2000s, Becky moved to the capital to present the weather on ITV's main national news programs. She also became an increasingly roving reporter for the popular daytime show This Morning, filing stories and reporting on assignments as far away as Australia.

Surfing Accident and Traumatic Brain Injury
In 2007, the turning point of Becky's career came when she was on a surfing holiday in Devon, and she was hit in the head by another surfer's board—heavily.
The result of that was a concussion and urinating migraines, affecting her vision, speech, and ability to eat. It was a big setback for someone who had built up a career on television.
Marriage to Jack Heald and Family Life
It was during her rehabilitation that Becky met her future husband, Jack Heald, while training to take part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
The next year, she got married, and they had four children. Becky also credits her family with keeping her going and giving her vital support during her long, hard recovery.
Overcoming Adversity and Returning to Presenting
The aftereffects of the head injury were only overcome through sheer will and the correct mindset. It took her close to 10 years to return to full self and off daily medication for the migraine.
She didn't turn up surfing again until 2017, which would be the first time since the accident. This would turn out to be a real milestone in her journey.
Mindset Coaching and Inspirational Content
For the past few years, Becky has been telling it all—her experiences and how she has managed to stay in a good mental space. Now, she posts motivational videos consistently on social media, and they genuinely help a lot of people.
She's now turning her thoughts toward launching an online mindset coaching course and a book so that she can share her story with a wider array of audiences and be in a position to share all of her insights into empowering others, overcoming challenges, and pursuing their goals.
Continued Success as ITV Weather Presenter
Among rehabilitation and personal battles, Becky has remained a mainstay of the ITV national weather team, appearing with the forecasts for the network's flagship news programs.
She is very much an established and familiar face on British television, her ethos coming through via her engaging delivery and easy personality.
