Who is Bob Saget?

Bob Saget is an American stand-up comedian, television host, and actor. He is widely famous for his appearance as Danny Tanner on ABC sitcom Full House and its Netflix sequel Fuller House as well as hosting America's Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997.

Bob Saget was born on 17th May 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the U.S.A. Born to his American parents Benjamin Saget and Rosalyn Saget, Bob is of White ethnicity and holds American nationality.

Bob's father Benjamin served as an executive at a supermarket and his mother worked as a hospital administrator. He also had a sister named Gay Saget. She died at the age of forty-seven suffering from scleroderma.

Regarding studies, Bob joined Abington Senior High School. Saget always dreamed of becoming a doctor, but one of his mentors saw his creativeness and acting skills and pushed Bob towards acting business.

In order to pursue his career in acting, Bob attended Temple University. During that time, he also created the film 'Through Adam's Eyes.' The movie was also honored with the Student Academy Awards. In 1978, he graduated with B.A from the university.

After his graduation from the University, he joined the University of California to further his studies. However, Bob quit university after some time. 

At the initial stage of his career, Bob moved to Los Angeles and showed his comic talent through stand-up routines and later began performing in comedy clubs. 

At the time Bob was struggling hard to make his bright career, Saget met Brad Grey who later worked as his manager for his profession affairs, as Bob began doing minor roles in movies and television. 

Bob kicked-off his professional career in 1987 as a part of The Morning Program, a television show. There she worked along with the co-host Rolland Smith and Mariette Hartley.

After leaving The Morning Program, Saget made his breakthrough appearance of his career. He portrayed as a widower father on Full House. Moreover, the show also went on top 20 soon after it was premiered on ABC. 

Later in 1987, Bob also made his appearance in another comic show and began working as a host of America's Funniest Home Videos.

When Full House was closed, Saget shifted began working as a stand-up comedian which gave him more fame and later portrayed in the 1996 movie For Hope.

In 2001, Bob appeared as a leading role in an American sitcom titled Raising Dad. Moreover, he also portrayed as a widower for two teenage girls. In addition, he also appeared in the 2005 documentary The Aristocrats. Meanwhile, he also served as a narrator on one of the popular sitcoms of the decade How I Met Your Mother. 

Additionally, in 2007, Saget founded his own stand-up comedy show named Bob Saget: That Ain't Right on the HBO channel.

Talking about his first marriage, Saget married his first wife Sherri Kramer in 1983. The pair first dated for a long time and decided to live together as husband-wife.

The couple also shares three children together, all of them are daughters, Aubrey Saget, Jennifer Belle Saget, and Lara Melanie Saget. 

Saget and Kramer stayed together for fifteen years and divorced after facing personal issues which have not been officially disclosed yet.

After his divorce with the first wife, Bob began dating Kelly Rizzo. The couple dated for a long time and finally decided to exchange wedding vows on 28th October 2018, in Santa Monica Beach, California. 

Saget proposed Kelly while they were watching a Netflix series named Strange Things. Since then, the pair is living a happy life together. Moreover, there are no rumors or controversies about the couple that leads to their separation or divorce. 

Regarding their children, Rizzo and Saget share none. However, the couple has announced about their planning of welcoming a new baby member in the family.

Prior to his second marriage, Bob was involved in a marital relationship with his girlfriend Hope Dworaczyk Smith. the couple began dating in 2010. However, they could not last longer than a year and ultimately got separated after in 2011.

During an interview with Ability Magazine, Bob talked about his sister Gay Saget who was diagnosed with scleroderma at her age of 43 and she passed away at her age of 47. Before that, she was also misdiagnosed several times. 

''Unfortunately, rheumatologists in a lot of places don’t have very many scleroderma patients come through their labs, and no one knew what to do with her. I wish I’d known then what I know now." 

Because of this, Saget is involved in fundraising efforts towards finding a cure for the disease, saying, 

"There’s also a Scleroderma Foundation, and we’re separate from them, but one of the Scleroderma Foundation board heads is also on the Scleroderma Research Foundation board. We're all basically trying to cure the same thing. Our organization has raised $25 million for research. Our chairman, Luke Evnin, is an amazing man and lives up in San Francisco with his wife, Deann Wright. They’re both brilliant scientists and doctors. Dana Delany’s on the board, Caryn Zucker, Kristen Baker Bellamy, who lost her mother to scleroderma, and is married to Bill Bellamy. Robin Williams worked our first benefit. A number of celebrities sign on, which helps to give the disease a higher profile. As you may know, Regina, a significant number of the people who get scleroderma are African-American.''

At present, Saget is more focused on this foundation in order to help other victims who are suffering from scleroderma.
