Charlie Murphy was born as Charles Quinton Murphy on July 12, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York. He is the son of Charles Edward Murphy and his wife, Lillian. His father was a transit police officer, and his mother was a telephone operator. His father died in 1969 when Charlie was just ten. Charlie also passed away in 2017.
