When Kalisz was in University, he participated in the Georgia Bulldogs swimming and diving team. He was a three-time NCAA Champion and held the American record in the 400-yard individual medley.

In addition, he won gold in the 400-meter im ( individual medley) with the timing of 4:09.42 seconds on the second day of competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. It was the first time the United States had won an Olympic medal in almost a century.

The twenty-seven-year-old swimmer also won the 200 IM (1:55.73) and 400 IM (4:08.25) events at the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships in Irvine, California. He also took sixth place in the 200 butterflies (1:55.42).

Chase Kalisz is currently in Japan, representing his nation in the 2020 Summer Olympics. He won the gold medal in the 400-meter individual medley with a time of 4:09:42 on day two of the competition. His gold medal was the first medal for the US at the current Olympics Games.
