Who is Claire Shipman?

Today the following column will give an insight to an extraordinary talented journalist turned author, Claire Shipman. The 56-year-old, Shipman is an American journalist, author, and public speaker. She is nan expert on confidence and women's leadership. Along with her best friend, Katty Kay, she's written three New York Times bestselling book, The Confidence Code, The Confidence Code for Girls,​ and Womenomics.

For fifteen years, Claire was a regular contributor to Good Morning America and other national broadcasts for ABC News. She is also a mother of two lovely children and relishes her marital life with husband, Jay Carney, who is the former White House press secretary to President Barack Obama.

Claire Shipman was born on October 4, 1962, in Washington, D.C. She is the daughter of the late Christie Armstrong and Morgan Enlow Shipman. Her father, Morgan is a former Professor of Law at the Ohio State University.

Claire graduated from Worthington High School in 1980 and she was recognized as a distinguished Alumna during its 2006 convocation. Further, she graduated with a Bachelor degree from the Columbia College of Columbia University. Likewise, she holds the Master's degree from Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs. She is also fluent in Russian.

Shipman's broadcast career started with a decade-long stint at CNN. She served as White House Correspondent for NBC News from 1997 to 2001. Also, she joined ABC News and presented news program such as World News Tonight and Nightline.

With CNN, Shipman won a Peabody award for her coverage of the 1991 Soviet coup and the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Additionally, she received a DuPont Award and an Emmy Award for covering the 1989 Tiananmen Square student uprising.

Talking about Claire Shipman's personal life, she is a married woman. She has been married twice in her life, but presently, she is happy with her marital relationship. The senior national correspondent for Good Morning America, Miss Shipman is also a mother of two teenage children.
