Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd have called it quits after five years: The estranged spouses share a son!
A Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and one of the big names in country music, Maren Morris, 33, has been a staple in the Southern-originated genre for over two decades. Throughout her extensive career in the industry, Morris has released ever-loved hitmakers like My Church, Dear Hate, and The Bones, and in return, has garnered a legion of fans. She has won esteemed accolades including a Grammy, and several BMI Country Awards.
Born Maren Larae Morris on April 10, 1990, in Arlington, Texas, she kicked off her musical journey in her native and later, moved to Nashville to write songs for established country acts. Morris landed a major record deal with Columbia Nashville in 2015, following which the singer's career took off at a rapid pace. Morris is back in the headlines amid her shocking split from Ryan Hurd, her husband of five years.
Inside Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd's Marriage!
Not a happy ever after. Maren and her husband of five years, Ryan Hurd, a fellow country singer-songwriter, have called it quits. The news comes after the duo commemorated their fifth anniversary in March. The Church crooner is seemingly navigating the crisis with a positive attitude as she posts a slew of inspirational quotes on Instagram.

"It will be fine. It will just be, and when it is, you will face what's necessary," Morris's post read, alluding to the singer's acceptance of her journey, and the unprecedented turn it has taken. Maren had just ventured into her promising career when she first met Hurd at a songwriting session in 2013. The pair together, along with songwriter Eric Arjes, penned mega country star Tim McGraw's Last Turn Home.
"It was the start of a wonderful writing relationship," recalled Morris, who would go on to share a collegial relationship with Hurd. The fellow songwriters only turned romantic in 2015 and certainly took their time basking in the dating bliss. The loved-up colleagues-turned-couple had enjoyed two years of romance when they announced that they were engaged, in July 2017.

The couple tied the knot after almost a year on March 24, 2018, at The Cordelle in Nashville. Throughout their relationship, Morris has kept a candid disposition by sharing their ups, and downs with the fans. The Grammy-winning singer shared how she and Hurd weathered a tough time early on in their marriage.
Morris called the first few months of her marriage with Hurd the "hardest part of our relationship." The Dear Hate hitmaker had to immediately bounce back into work and, more specifically, touring as she opened for Niall Horan, after her wedding. "We went on our honeymoon, and then I immediately went on this gigantic tour," Morris lamented, adding, "I was gone more than I had ever been on any other tour."

The musical couple welcomed their son, Hayes Andrew Hurd, a day before their second wedding anniversary, on March 23, 2020. As the spouses-turned-parents continued to navigate the rollercoaster ride that is every marriage, the duo's shared love for music also strengthened their bond. The couple released their first duet, Chasing After You, in February 2021.
The pair's divorce news comes six months after they celebrated their fifth anniversary!
As the pair announced their separation earlier this week in October, fans are left wondering what could have possibly gone wrong between the couple who seemed picture-perfect. The My Church crooner has cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split.
Get to Know Maren Morris's Husband and Son!
Morris, 33, being a widely loved country star, and a Grammy winner, boasts a legion of fans, but the same can't be said about her husband, Hurd, 36. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Hurd kickstarted his career as a songwriter. But unlike his wife, who has successfully carved a stellar profile as a singer, Hurd has pretty much stayed stuck to songwriting.

Hurd's first breakthrough as a songwriter was McGraw's ballad hit, Last Turn Home, which, as aforementioned, was also the beginning of his love story with Morris. The Chicago-born has since written a string of hitmakers for A-listers like Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Ashley Monroe, and the rock band Hiner.
One doesn't need to doubt Hurd's contribution to Morris' career. Among the trove of songs that Hurd has co-written with his now-estranged wife, All My Favorite People, Circles Around This Town, and Great Ones are some of the most notable ones.
Although the musical pair ceased their marital ties, they are still forever bonded as parents to their son, Hayes, 3. The Grammy-winning singer is yet to comment on her parenting situation with Hurd as they separate, but fans are assured that she'll make the best decision in her son's interest.

Being an indelible musical force in the industry, it's no surprise that the doting parents want their only kid to follow in their footsteps. Morris brings her son Hayes on most of her tours and previously revealed that the toddler knows every member of her crew.
"Maybe he can be in the band someday," the Church crooner said in an interview. "Maybe he'll be my drummer or something and I won't have to pay him as much," the Grammy-winning singer quipped.
