The first trailer for Fate was released on December 10, 2020. Afterward, fans of the original Winx Club quickly took to social media to accuse the show of whitewashing key characters, Terra and Musa.

In the original cartoon, Musa is an East Asian, but Applebaum appears to be white. Meanwhile, Terra, played by white actor Salt, isn't in the original Winx Club. Season two of Fate might include more diverse characters.
